"Matt Bevin, the tea party primary challenger aiming to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, charged Monday that McConnell can’t win a general election.

In remarks at a Washington, D.C. event sponsored by the tea party-affiliated group FreedomWorks PAC, Bevin painted himself as the only Republican who can beat Democratic candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes in what is already among the most high-profile races of the 2014 midterm cycle."

We will see come primary time. We all believed and knew Ron Paul could probably have beaten Obama had he been given a chance. Not exactly the best comparison, but Bevin will have to build up his name recognition, donor base and draw away enough of McConnell's supporters to both be considered a credible threat- let's face it, I doubt a sitting Minority Leader is all that worried- and to still be able to topple Grimes, should he win the primary.
