Dave Brat is challenging Rep. Eric Cantor in a Republican primary ó and giving the House majority leader a verbal thrashing on immigration.

ďCantor is following the agenda of the Business Roundtable and the Chamber of Commerce ó pursuing policies that are good for big business, but come at the exclusion of the American people,Ē said Brat, an economics professor at Randolph-Macon College.

Bratís upstart bid against the second highest-ranking House Republican may seem quixotic. But itís part of a growing national movement to oust GOP leaders who fail conservative litmus tests.

Cantor, in Bratís view, is flunking badly on border security. Indeed, the congressman even applauded President Barack Obamaís State of the Union address outlining a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

I wish I still lived north of the city. He'd have my vote. I voted for Floyd Bayne in the last primary. Cantor needs to go.

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/06/diana-cantor-joins-revlon-board-92831.htmlDiana Cantor, the wife of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, was elected this month to the board of the cosmetic giant Revlon Ė the fourth public company for which she serves as a director.
The Cantors have a longtime friendship with Ronald Perelman, the chairman of Revlonís board and the head of holding company MacAndrews & Forbes that owns a large chunk of the cosmetic company.

Cantor and Perelman dine together in New York, and the majority leader has slept in Perelmanís home, according to sources familiar with the relationship. Perelman is also a major donor to Cantorís political campaigns Ė he has donated $47,300 to Cantorís various political committees.

Can Eric Cantor, the Republican Majority Leader, redeem his party and himself?

ďHeís a fantastic Majority Leader,Ē Paul Ryan, the chairman of the House Budget Committee and a close friend, said. ďEric is the guy who studies the big vision and is doing the step-by-step, daily management of the process to get us there. That is a huge job.ĒLate in the afternoon on the second day of the retreat, Cantor and his wife, Diana, who happens to be a liberal Democrat, met me for coffee at the Trellis restaurant, in Williamsburg. Cantor, who is forty-nine, is slight and speaks in a nasal Southern drawl.

GOP Congressman Cantor's Wife's Bank Did Well in the Bailout (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/aram-roston/gop-congressman-cantors-w_b_160420.html)
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/aram-roston/gop-congressman-cantors-w_b_160420.htmlWhen a powerful Republican congressman's wife is hired by a bank, and the bank gets a federal taxpayer bailout worth hundreds of millions, what does it mean? That will probably shake itself out. The congressman: House Republican Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA). The wife: Diana Cantor, managing director of the Virginia subsidiary of New York Private Bank and Trust.
Paul Kiel and I just broke the story at Propublica and you can read the whole story here:

In brief: Rep. Cantor played a key role in getting bipartisan approval for the controversial $700 billion bank bailout bill in September, although since then he has been a vocal opponent of the surprising way the money is being spent: buying up stock in banks.

Rep. Eric Cantor Blocked Foreclosure Crisis Fix While Owning a Financial Stake in Mortgage Businesses

the Stock Act, legislation to curb lawmakers and government officials from profitting from their position in government? In the Senate, a strong amendment offered (http://news.firedoglake.com/2012/02/03/stock-act-passes-after-ethics-add-ons/) by Senator Sherrod Brown to force members of Congress to either divest from companies that stand to benefit from policymaking or dump their investments into a blind trust was defeated. Congressman Eric Cantor (R-VA) is managing the House version of the Stock Act. Since it appears unlikely that Cantor will attach Brownís meaningful amendment, Cantorís own history of legislating on issues that affect his bank account deserves a renewed look.

F**K Cantor ... He's nothing more than another Mcconnell, McCain, Boehner, Graham ... That nut in the Senate Schumer summons Cantor to his private chamber to discuss immigration .... or whatever the hell b-hole buddies do within their private chambers. Cantor has to go ... and take the other RINO's with him.
