Billy O is a true neocon? I was under the impression that he's just a propaganda tool for real neocons. I'm pretty sure Billy doesn't have the smarts required to be a "quality" neocon. Like the rest of MSM, he's an intellectual lightweight (and that's being nice).

I don't know what Bill Orwelly really is; I only said that neocons are socialists. I think either way my statement can work.

O'Reilly is a big 'ol leftist. An authoritarian and a moralist, to boot. He tricks a lot of people, but if you listen to him very long, you can see what he really is. I would imagine his audience are a lot of the Democrats who became Republicans during the Reagan "revolution". The Rockefeller-Republicans would like him too, I suppose.

Republicans are going to have to end up conceding as this is gaining too much support from the public. It won't be 10.10, but it will end up being sold as a 'bipartisan deal'.

Ah, but raising it by a $1 or two, every once in a while, earns them brownie points and votes for caring. A large payout would show the real affect and the chimps would certainly get a glimpse of reality...this would cause a mass feces throwing episode inside the cage.

That'd be one helluva mess for the keeper to clean.

I think the problem with the minimum wage is mainly in raising it. It's probably far worse to raise it by a large jump than to raise it by increments of less than 10 cents that don't occur too frequently. If they're smaller it's easier for the economy and employers to adjust to the change.

Another problem is when these minimum wage increases come along randomly. If it was raised in a regular and predictable manner, employers would be able to budget, prepare, and brace for the upcoming change more easily.

Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad if a law were passed that limited how frequently and by how much the government can raise the minimum wage, for example when done by executive orders to contractors that do business with the government.

These machines don't show up late. They don't call in sick. They don't require payroll taxes, or witholdings... or continuous paperwork.
They work 24 hours a day without complaint.

GOP should wise up and extend unemployment another 99 weeks. GOP should wise up and continue to pump funny money into the economy. GOP should wise up and subsidize corn. GOP should wise up and centralize education. Oh wait, the GOP has mostly been ok with all of these things.

Apparently "wise up" just means more central economic planning.

Yeah, the old folks who saved up all their lives just get the rug pulled out from under em sooner than usual. When money loses it's value because incomes keep increasing, those stuck on a fixed income are screwed.

Actually, this might not be a bad idea. Offer an amendment to bump the min wage to $50. If it passes, it will accelerate the inevitable and we can get it over with. If it doesn't pass, point out how the Democrats had a chance to bump the min wage to $50 but voted against it!

I'm betting the establishment GOP is throwing this on purpose. They are under siege, and the only way to continue things, as they are, is to throw opportunity to the democrats. Nobody could make it to that level, being that stupid, unless it was intentional.

About the only thing Conservative about Bill O is that he is pro-life. It is really a good strategy by the Democrats to bash Bill O as a Conservative. The average viewer that thinks they are Conservative watch him and follow his lead believing the Democrat ideology they hear from him is Conservative ideology. They then vote accordingly therefore ensuring a RINO is elected.

Most people believe Foxnews is a Conservative outlet when the reality is there really no Conservative leaning news channel. They are just fake opposition to ensure Progressive Republicans get elected instead of true Conservatives or Libertarians.

Coming soon we will see Bill O either bash or ignore Rand while supporting a Democrat (RINO) Jeb Bush. Every four years we watch this with this clown and everyone still buys into it.

I can see this being controversial. A lot like some folks' strategy of taking as much welfare as possible to bankrupt the regime. But to each his own.

That's not really true. There used to be about 85% of Americans in favor of raising the minimum wage, and now it's only about 55-60%. The American people are becoming more opposed to the minimum wage, even though a majority still support it.

No overestimation about it - that's precisely my point. The boobus constituents play right into the game.
I think these are deliberate actions by the political parties - not just a bunch of morons making stupid mistakes. If they are really that stupid... Perhaps the republicans have been seeking political advice from flat worms? The planarian seem to have a greater mental capacity (plus you can cut their head in half, and they will grow 2 heads - I'd like to see a few politicians try to do that)

Anyone that does not want to subject themselves to Ambush Journalism would avoid him like a Pariah. No one gets a fair chance to express their point of view when an interviewer talks over the person who is interviewed. Meet the Press is also notorious for this.

O'Reilly an idiot... We have 30 to 60 million illegals about to be given legal status ... That should bring minimum wage to about $.50 per hour ... Chamber of Commerce demanded it; Obama and Boehner gonna stick it to the American worker. Chamber calls... those two numbnuts answer.

In the end, what does it really matter?

Boil the frog slowly & steadily at regular & predictable increments - or flash-fry it all at once (or in fits & starts).

The frog'll end up just as dead either way ...

Good point. If like a lot of people, your hours are now cut to 26 or so because of mandated healthcare, you can now live just above the poverty line with your brand new min wage of $10.10 hour. Life is good...
