Well worth the time to watch.

Yeah, he is such a well-spoken, intelligent representative for people upset about govt overreach.

edit: eg: "So its, I would say; illustrative that the president would choose to say, 'someone should face the music' when he knows the music is a show trial." -- Mr. Snowden.

Interesting. I did not realize he was former cia... (Now retired?)

Like police excluding job applications from high IQ candidates,
the cia just needs to pre-screen recruits for and exclude anyone
that could possibly think about or desire to "do the right" thing.

In the past, we could just watch for significant changes in the
Boy Scouts leadership, and maybe their motto...

Who knows where they'll lurk to find their right stuff now. I bet
the heat got turned way up at the contractor's house too, after
Snowden left.

Interesting times indeed - just like trying to spin more and
more plates on top of all those wobbly sticks... faster, faster.

It's not at that Youtube link in the OP any more. But here it is at Vimeo.

If it doesn't last there, I found it easily with a Google search of "Snowden German Interview."

One thing I don't get is why he keeps not answering questions with the excuse that he's leaving it up to journalistic editorial decisions.

Superb interview! He is so well spoken. I love the part about corporate spying, that NSA would spy for that which is not just national security but of national interest. Thanks so much for this gem!!!

"national interest" = whoever pays the state the most will get to spy on their competitors.

I think it might have to do with his Russian visa. IIRC, he had to swear that HE was done disclosing information in order to be given permission to stay. If he has already given all the info to the reporters already, then it is the reporters doing the disclosing from this day forward, not him.

edit: meant DONE disclosing info.

Thanks for the catch. I mean to say he was DONE doing any disclosing. ie: The Russians didn't want to give protection to him if he was going to continue disclosing information.

I am somewhat disappointed. He is a dyed in the wool statist. He BELIEVES that the government should have this power, but just that it should be used for the public good.

He's a statist liberal. He believes in using violent force for the promotion of "public good".

Is it violent force if I buy your data from someone?

No. But several times during the interview, he mentions "Proper role of government" and similar phrases. He is a firm believer that the people have the right to empower government to do things which they themselves cannot do.
