Paul to visit Iowa this weekend
RALLY: U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas plans to be in Des Moines on Saturday despite his exclusion from a presidential candidates' forum. Paul, a Republican, is planning to attend a rally at the end of the forum, which is sponsored by Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance. Paul's event begins at 4:30 p.m. at Hy-Vee Hall, the same venue as the forum.
EXCLUSION: Paul and two other lesser-known GOP candidates were not invited to the forum because organizers judged them to have little organization in Iowa. That exclusion sparked vocal, and sometimes angry, protests from Paul supporters. But Paul's national campaign chairman said his event Saturday complements the forum and is not a protest.
