"Ben Swann takes a look at the ruling by Judge Edmond Chang that Chicago’s Ban on gun stores is unconstitutional. Why would Ben say the judge got it wrong?"

Some of the comments ...ughhh.

I hate to say it because I usually am on Ben’s side…if a law is infringing on a protected right BUT a ‘compelling state interest’ can be shown to be the reason for infringing on that right, the law is constitutional.

...easy access to explosives or full-auto weapons would make us less safe because a full-auto rifle is orders of magnitude deadlier than a semi auto rifle... I think it’s reasonable & constitutional to require that if you sell a gun you be able to document the name, date of birth, ID number & some proof the purchaser was not prohibited from owning guns

Laws that leave the right wholly intact, but put some delays or reasonable* requirements on the exercise of that right, can be constitutional.

We have a long way to go if followers of Ben Swann think like that.

I think Greater Good is a legit arguement, IF you can show that it benefits everyone in society. Namely that entails asking everyone (children included) if they agree with whatever it is being discussed.

Greater Good at its core is Socialism. And Socialism has little to no respect for the Individual. "Oh, that individual has a lot of money? Lets take it and redistribute it among all the people that dont have money." The abuses of Greater Good argument destroy the idea of the Individual. "His opinion does not support the opinion of his assigned Group. He needs to be Reeducated."

By the way, Greater Good also has to be heavily Administered and Regulated, defeating its own intended purpose.
