The Arizona Republican Party formally censured Sen. John McCain on Saturday, citing a voting record they say is insufficiently conservative.

The resolution to censure McCain was approved by a voice-vote during a meeting of state committee members in Tempe, state party spokesman Tim Sifert said. It needed signatures from at least 20 percent of state committee members to reach the floor for debate.

Sifert said no further action was expected.

McCain spokesman Brian Rogers declined to comment on the censure. But former three-term Sen. Jon Kyl told The Arizona Republic (http://bit.ly/1mIyKyy ) that the move was “wacky.”

Wow! When I saw the title I assumed it had to be just a county party. But for the state party to do this is a big deal I think.

Until there's a credible challenger, I don't see this deterring him from running for reelection in 2016.

Sen. Jon Kyl told The Arizona Republic that the move was “wacky.”

Not "wacky" - "wacko" (as in "wacko-birds") ... and those silly constituents, gettin' all uppity and such ...

I see a lot of gray- and white-haired people. This is good.

In the second video I knew almost immediately that the lady who came out in support of McCain was gonna say, "The purpose of the party is to win elections." I hear that so much in defense of incumbents that it makes me sick to my stomach.

Okay don't eat before you watch this. You know Chris Matthews isn't going to pass up a chance to frame the AZ GOP as being 'far right' for this move.

I'd like to know more about Shwartz's stance on foreign policy, seeing as how it might be time to demote him to higher office. :)

Palin doesn't support this: http://dailycaller.com/2014/01/27/palin-comes-to-mccains-defense-in-facebook-post/

But what can you expect from a brainless wench? IMO this is a positive story. People are realizing what a joke their lady savior was and still is.

Now maybe the AZ GOP will censure the GOP for its liberal record.

McCain's voting record from 2010-2012 was tolerable for Arizona. Then he voted for ENDA, background checks, amnesty and to break the filibuster on some of Obama's nominees. Jeff Flake is almost as bad. McCain claimed he learnt his lesson after failing to pass amnesty in 2007 and Arizona passing SB1070.

Somehow I get the impression that his warmongering doesn't fall under his "liberal" record according to their logic.

John McCain is clearly a maverick. He said so hisself.

Slowly but surely we are having a positive influence.
