I seems like every time I go to Yahoo! website, I keeps seeing something discussing global warming and climate change somewhere on their front page.

Snow storm? NASA, NOAA call 2013 4th hottest year ever
WASHINGTON – The sweltering year of 1988 first put global warming in the headlines and ended up as the hottest year on record. But on Tuesday, it was pushed out of the top 20 warmest by 2013.
Last year tied for the fourth hottest and 1988 fell to 21st.
The average world temperature was 58.12 degrees tying with 2003 for the fourth warmest since 1880, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said Tuesday.
At the same time, NASA, which calculates records in a different manner, ranked last year as the seventh warmest on record, with an average temperature of 58.3 degrees. The difference is related to how the two agencies calculate temperatures in the Arctic and other remote places and is based on differences that are in the hundredths of a degree, scientists said.
Both agencies said nine of the 10th warmest years on record have happened in the 21st century. The hottest year was 2010, according to NOAA.
The reports were released as a big snowstorm was hitting the U.S. East Coast.
California Drought- snowpack only 20% of normal. No rain or snow in sight.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/weather/2014/01/17/california-drought-emergency/4581761/
"All I can report to you is it's not raining today and it's not likely to rain for several weeks," Brown said in a news conference in San Francisco. On Thursday, the National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center forecast below normal precipitation for two-thirds of California through April.
Brown's proclamation allows California to request a broad emergency declaration from President Barack Obama, which would expedite some water transfers, provide financial assistance and suspend some state and federal regulations.
The situation in most of California and northern Nevada is extremely dry, according to the most recent report Thursday from the U.S. Drought Monitor, a federal website that tracks drought nationwide. Almost 99% of California is considered abnormally dry or worse; almost two-thirds of the state is in extreme drought.
2013 became the driest year on record in California; San Francisco had the least rain since record keeping there began during the gold rush of 1849.
Farmers are getting only about five percent of the water they are requesting. This will have a major impact on what you pay for food later in the year if you think it won't effect you since the state produce about a third of some foods grown in the US.

http://unofficialnetworks.com/nasa-shows-bad-california-drought-127886/
The Snow Water Equivalents in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California is at a historic low for this time of year, as can be seen in this image comparing 2013 to 2014. The Sierra Nevada mountains are experiencing Extreme Drought with no relief in sight. This might be bad news for skiers but if the second half of the season does not bring much needed precipitation it could spell disaster for the entire state of California.

Clouds- not icebergs. Remember- half of your fresh fruits and vegetables grown in the US come from there. http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/nation/jan-june14/drought2_01-22.html Get back to me when food prices rise sharply this fall. Even if you don't live here, you will feel the effects.
KAREN ROSS: Well, we can't grow food and farm crops without water. And about 65 percent of our cropland is irrigated. So it is very serious.
It is not just isolated to one part of the state. As I said earlier, we have a number of our counties that are under extreme drought conditions. And what it means is that we are already seeing farmers choose to fallow land that normally this time of the year they would be preparing for a springtime crop or a summer crop.
Every drop that they do have will be diverted to their permanent crops. That is tree nuts, which we are a significant supplier of nuts to the world. Over 50 percent of the fresh produce comes from our fields and orchards. So it is a very serious problem. And we are all in this together. It could be very long-lasting.

Yet to have a drought here in Ohio, but it happens often to the South. Such is life. Doesn't mean we should all panic and pay alms to the state.

"It wasn't easy for the teenage explorer who ignored a chest infection, swollen ankle and the frostbite eating at his fingers and toes to finish the trek...."
Sure, these are the so called intelligent among us folks, telling us that we should believe that the earth is warming while they're getting frostbite and getting ships stuck in the ice, lol! Sorry, but when idiots like Al Gore pollute the earth with huge jets and claim to buy "carbon credits" to offset his pollution, I just have to sit back and laugh at the fools dumb enough to believe it. Carbon credits? Really? That's like saying we can all eat fudge and ice cream all day as long as we offset it by putting strawberries on it. Please.
And let's not forget that they're having trouble explaining a few things. Like why their computer models cannot reconcile the lack in warming contrasted against the co2 increases over the last decade and a half. So either their co2 data is off or the actual warming is off...either way, any logical thinking rational human being would not assume that these "scientists" have a clue to what's going on.

A few people have written to say I have a closed mind with respect to the impact humans can have on the environment. I dare say flip the coin – you are assuming we have the capacity to alter the planet as if we were God. I have investigated this very carefully. Like markets, yes you can manipulate them within the trend, but you cannot change a bear market into a bull market at will. The same is true for the global environment.
[...]
I have reviewed the cyclical discoveries of Sallie Baliunas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sallie_Baliunas#Global_warming_and_solar_variabili ty). Ice core samples were taken going back thousands of years and what was discovered is that the sun is indeed a thermal dynamic system that beats like your heart and there is a 300 year cycle between maximum and minimum. Do not confuse short-term trends or local observations for a few decades and assume we have altered the entire planet.
[...]
I attended the dinner in Washington that was a political bash. I went with my friend Dick Fox who was Chairman of Temple University at that time. The person in charge of seating put the two of us at the table with the environmental group heads. They assumed we were with a university and spoke freely. The conversation was frank and it was all about how to use the environmental movement to reduce population. They fought for wetlands to stop construction. We listened to this revelation and Dick egged them on pretending to be on their side. They even want harsh prison terms for minorities to stop them from have children. Dick finally asked them – Whose grandchild are you trying to prevent from being born? Yours or mine? The farce was then up.
