To Whom it May Concern,

WAKE UP!

The power and arrogance that comes from steering such a powerful ship has left you in a drunken stupor. For years, you have been told that the vessel is unsinkable. You see the ice sticking out of the water in front of you and you assume that with careful calculations and adjustments, you can steam full speed ahead. Tragically, you have made a titanic miscalculation in the size, shape, and strength of the behemoth you face.

You attempt to tell us our country’s “front-runners”. You reference irrelevant and outdated polls to support your policies. You label us with absurd names to discredit us, but are you truly so blind that you cannot recognize who we are? Our passion has created such a movement within our country that even your flawed polls are starting to give you an indication of our true nature.

You offer us no solutions. It is obvious that the policies you push at us like narcotics offer no clear plan for saving our country. You propose to continue down a path of death and destruction. We realize the inevitable future you desire and are not fooled by your rhetoric. Many of us have already died in the name of “safety” and “security” against a threat none of you will define except in the most vague and outlandish terms.

There is one candidate who stands against you. He speaks the truth that cuts through all of your lies. You cannot debate him with logic and reasoned arguments. You have been told you can safely sidestep him. You are bewildered by this man of character, strength, and principles. He has won our “hearts and minds.”

You are fast becoming irrelevant. You are like a tumor fighting for survival as it is rejected by the body. But deep down, it seems you knew this day would come. You always needed us but we never needed you. We cut across your demographics. We are why your ratings are plummeting. We were your audience. We are the mainstream, not you.

You are surprised that we have finally woken up. It was certainly a long slumber. We are not yet as oppressed as our brethren around the world and yet our eyes have been opened nonetheless. We stand up peacefully against your tyranny.

We are the un-silent majority. We are the defenders of our country. We are the champions of liberty. We are patriots. We are change. We are the past and we are the future. We are the proponents of peace and prosperity. But beware if you take away our rights and impose your will, because we become reminiscent of the coiled-up rattlers of old hissing “Don’t Tread On Me.” We are power.

We have tried to keep you honest. We have tried to make you pay attention. You ignore us while we continue to grow in strength and numbers. More and more of us continue to turn our backs to you. We can tell you are scared. Your speech resonates with the lies and hatred you spew.

In the next month, you will realize that what you have seen is only the tip of the iceberg. Your only hope is to reverse your engines and address us head-on. Otherwise, it will be too late.

Our demands are simple. All we want is a government of us, by us, and for us.

Please.

Sincerely,
We the People

Please feel free to add to, detract from, and edit any and all of this letter. Send it to whomever you would like. This is open-source. Although I wrote the first draft, I would like it to truly be a letter from the People.
