Greg Snider was in a Houston, Texas parking lot, on the phone making a business call. While in the lot, a homeless man approached his car and asked forchange. Snider gave him 75 cents and then drove off. KPRC Local 2 News reported on the shocking thing that happened next.

When Snider pulled onto a nearby freeway, a police car pulled him to the side. Greg was surprised by how aggressive the officer was, telling KPRC, “He's screaming. He's yelling. He's telling me to get out of the car. He's telling me to put my hands on the hood…They're like, 'We saw you downtown. We saw what you did.’ And I was like, 'Are you kidding me? I gave a homeless man 75 cents.'"

He was dragged out of his car and handcuffed. So what was it that police insisted Mr. Snider had done? Give that homeless man drugs. Again, he didn’t. Snider only gave the man some money.

Snider agreed to let police search his cars for drugs, and they did so for an hour while Greg remained handcuffed. In that time, ten more police cars showed up and pulled over. The search was not fruitful – no drugs were found in the car. That is, because, as previously mentioned, Snider didn’t have any drugs to give. Aside from the damage police did to his car, Snider isn’t happy that the police were actually laughing about the mistake.

Of course the police were laughing, they have a sick sense of humor. To them, just another day on the job. To Snider, a whole day ruined and his rights raped just because they thought he slipped the man something he would get high off of.

Fuck the police.

well said...my sentiments exactly! There should be accountability for their actions and not through the taxpayers. They wouldn't laugh if they had to pay back damages themselves rather than pass the buck.

But instead they get a pat on the back for doing things like this. And the most "punishment" we usually see cops receive is essentially a paid vacation while the department sorts out the official story. There is absolutely no accountability when it comes to cops. Because their own department investigates them... I mean, they all know each other and want to keep the status quo, why would they find their own people accountable?

Sad state of affairs. Truly.

They're laughing when they should be crying at what trifling idiots they've become, seeing every little exchange between hands as a drug deal.

Man mistakenly caught in drug sting in Houston

Man who gave homeless man 75 cents gets pulled over by police

HOUSTON -

A man said he was wrongly targeted by Houston police, handcuffed and detained for more than an hour, after he gave a homeless man 75 cents.

Greg Snider said he was driving in downtown Houston around 2 p.m., when he pulled into a parking lot at Commerce and La Branch to take a business call.

"That's when the homeless man came up to me. He said, 'Hey my name is Dave. I'm from Dallas. I'm down on my luck. Do you have any change,'" said Snider.

Snider said he gave the man some change and drove off.

"I had no idea at all what was about to happen," said Snider.

After Snider pulled onto I-10, he said a police car with flashing lights and sirens pulled behind him.

"I put my hazards on to let him know, 'Hey, I see you,'" said Snider. "This is a really bad part of I-10 to be pulled over on, so I was trying to find a safe place to pull over."

Snider said he was shocked by what the police officer did next.

"He's screaming. He's yelling. He's telling me to get out of the car. He's telling me to put my hands on the hood," said Snider.

Snider said the officer pulled him out of the car, handcuffed him and put him in the back of a police car, as ten more police cars were also pulling up.

"They're like, 'We saw you downtown. We saw what you did,'" said Snider. "I was like, 'Are you kidding me? I gave a homeless man 75 cents.'"

Snider said the officer accused him of giving the man drugs. The officer asked to search Snider's car and Snider said he agreed.

The officer brought in drug sniffing dogs. Snider said he sat handcuffed for an hour until an officer told him their search turned up no drugs.

"He said everything was a misunderstanding and that I was free to go," said Snider.

Snider said the officers were laughing. Snider said he found nothing funny about the officers' actions or the damage they caused to his car during the search. Snider filed a complaint with the police Internal Affairs Department.

Local 2 contacted Houston police. A spokesperson confirmed Greg Snider filed a complaint. Police would not comment further about the incident.

Just a few bad apples.

Also, I like the solution the mundane has found available to him:

Snider filed a complaint with the police Internal Affairs Department.

If you have a problem with the police, please report it to... the police!

It looks like Ossifer Boobus suspected this particular individual gave the homeless particular individual some drugs:

Now just in case anyone wants to give me some "Whale, dat guys probably a liberal so-sho-list if he gibbing change to bums", let me head you off by saying that maybe he is a liberal socialist , but its HIS money and he can give HIS money to whomever he pleases.

I have to say, LE has been more successful at opening people's eyes to police abuse than I personally have. They do it one abuse at a time. Of course, some of the abused still apolgize for police abuse. Stockholm syndrome l guess.

i would say that this man should take em to court for a jury trial on their abuse of him and destroying his car...but id bet the jury would say the cops were innocent.

Surprisingly in all the comments there were no bootlickers. It was angry citizens and some confused ones too. And a lot that had stories of their own pouring out of being pulled over, searched, homes accidentally searched and destroyed. Lots of abuse pouring out. It gives me some encouragement. That people are starting to realize the police are not there to serve and protect you.
