View Full Version : Kelly Thomas case: Ex-officer Cicinelli wants his job back

A day after being found not guilty of involuntary manslaughter and excessive force in the death of Kelly Thomas, Jay Cicinelli told the Orange County Register he wants to return to his former job and will take the legal steps necessary to try to make that happen...

The former corporal will state his case in front of an arbitrator, who will then make a recommendation to the city on whether to hire him back, he said. A lawsuit is a possible if arbitration is unsuccessful...

“I was wrongfully terminated. How do you argue with a jury of 12 who all agree on the same thing?” he said. “They sat through the whole trial and heard all the facts.”
He also cited the trial testimony of Fullerton Cpl. Stephen Rubio, his training officer, who testified that Cicinelli’s actions during the struggle with Thomas were within department policy.http://www.ocregister.com/articles/cicinelli-597262-thomas-officer.html

He thinks what he did was fine. He believes the jury has proven his position that his use of force was fine. So what do you think he will be like next time?

Yep... someone in the other thread called this... but not so fast. Time for a Civil Lawsuit for wrongful death.

I'm going on record knowing LEO is reading comments in here.

Being a coward, throwing your humanity away, throwing your honor away, violating your oath to the U.S. Constitution will not be ignored by the people who pay these evil people a wage to exercise their disdain for average citizens in this country.

The Laws of this land will win out eventually, and because of these 'infractions' towards taxpayers, justice will come. A judge will rule, and if this fails... his name is God, and you will be held accountable for your inhumanity.

He might, but I think he is dead before the year is out. Dumb ass doesn't know how to go into hiding and will soon be 6 feet under.

Ya think? I don't know. I have known a few violent individuals who walk proud today with no true repercussions. I think he might inflict more damage and unravel on his own as his ego is quite evident in his positions taken in the article. He really thinks he has been vindicated and has done NO wrong. Unbelievable...

Nothing will happen to him -- from what I recall he's been coaching little league and working as a security guard since getting fired. He knows nobody cares enough to do anything to him, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he's been getting special police protection just in case.

That could be because people thought there would be justice in this case. Now that there has been no justice and this is going viral on facebook, he is a target.

The camera evidence helped the police officers' defense. The police likely would have been found guilty without the video.

The difference here and the OJ Simpson case is that this was all caught on tape, there is no plausible deniability here, everyone can see exactly what happened. This is going viral on Facebook right now, much more than when it first happened.

You're f*cking shitting me, right? Had there been no video there would have been no public outrage in the first place. It would have just been another Saturday night thugscum of a vagrant. You are really streching to justify your position.

The jurors needed the video to properly rule on the case, not guilty. Without the video, the jurors would have saw the body of Kelly without knowing what led to the event. The video saved the officers.

Had there not been outrage, due to the video, there would never have been a trial in the first place. The DA would not have prosecuted and originally determined that there was no evidence showing that the officers intended to kill Kelly though they were investigating "use of force" guidelines. It would have just been another thugscrum on a bum and swept under the rug. As is usually the case. You're out of your friggin' mind Frank.

It's clear to me now that the DA never wanted or intended to prosecute this case. As such he made a half assed attempt, if even that, to counter the defense.

Historically speaking, I'm seeing the foundations of a Bolshevik revolution being created. "The people" will rise up and try to pull an October Revolution in America. The liberals/progressives/socialists will establish the Soviet Union all over again.

If the Jury foreman was a lawyer who formerly worked in that DA's office, the right lawyer can hit the jackpot and leave occifer thugass destitute.
