Dr. George Simon, author of "Wolves in Sheep Clothing." deals with how psychopathic politicians are making America into a narcissistic and psychopathic culture: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srXqIh_0qpg&list=WL0E100504AC4201ED

His way of determining if someone is indeed a psychopath seems so very easy, but yet these CEOs, media celebrities and politicians continue to seduce enough people to make sure they get what they want. Problem is that like a vampire once they suck dry the host they merely leave and let whatever is left of the host to fend for itself. That can occur both on an individual and national basis.

The video's an hour long. But nowhere in your OP do you actually answer the question. How do we avoid electing psychopaths?

I agree, a summary would be nice.

Not only that, but the title is redundant.

Psychopathy is like any other area of psychology -- you cannot reduce it to a sound-bite. Actually towards the end he talks about how our society wants everything quick and that attention spans are less in our kids thanks to toxic TV but the establishment merely provides medication for the problem than actually has no organic origin in the child.

As for psychopathy in general, the doctor has spent years researching this subject. He explains this as well as how our society is evolving into secondary psychopathic.

I don't care about knowing more about psychopathy. The thread title says how not to elect them.

Is that all the video is about, just how to recognize them? That won't do us any good.

Ok, so to sum up...society as a whole is evolving into psychopaths. Sounds like my original post still stands.

If you cannot recognize them you can't expose them or avoid getting seduced by them.

But what if being psychopaths makes them more electable rather than less?

I mean, the whole point of having these positions to elect these people into in the first place is to be offices where what would otherwise be recognized as illegitimate violence would be treated as legitimate.
