Anyone have some data here to debunk this claim?

What claim? What does Ron Paul have to do with Enron?

If Ron Paul is elected we will have corporate abuse.

Why?

I'm looking for arguments against this statement in relation to the Enron scandal.

He doesn't take money from special interests... he always tlaks about "legalizing competition"... maybe he's considering re-defining corporate rights?

Corporate abuse does not take place to this extent when you have competition. With Enron there was no competition due to government subsidization of the energy industry.
The rare exception is opec where the oil producers all get together and decide on price controls.
For the most part however enron was able to do what it did through government subsidization which equals nothing less than government monopoly.

Perhaps someone with a more thorough understanding can explain it in more detailed terms. Most people believe that without government there will be monopolies but the reality of the situation cannot be further from the truth. People need to understand how the governments subsidization & banning of market products & regulation hurts a free market economy.

Yeah I agree already with this. The problem is the statement is not supported. And I was hoping someone would have some other info that could be provided (examples of how they did it) etc.

Uh Enron no longer exists!

Ok, serious answer. Ron Paul has no ties to the big energy companies as did Bush, Cheney, Rice and Rumsfeld. Whoever asked you this is under the delusion that corporate malfeasance comes from lack of government oversight. The truth is most corruption comes from government being INVOLVED with corporations. Did the person forget Cheney's "energy task force"? Enron was at the table. Or what about the fact that Jeb Bush lost millions in Florida pension fund money? Janet Rehnquist (daughter of the late chief justice William Rehnquist) covered up for this (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/03/04/politics/main542782.shtml) and lost her job as a result. Note that she got her job from George W. Bush. Interesting. William Rehnquist helps George and Jeb seal the deal on Florida 2000, Janet gets a job from George, Jeb needs embarrassing info about Enron investments sealed until after the election, Janet "falls on her sword" and the Bush brothers get away clean. These are the kinds of skull and bones (pun intended) shenanigans that bring about the "Enron's" of the world and NOT sensibly cutting regulation. I'm curious. Who made the statement attempting to tie Ron Paul to Enron and who does this person support? Hillary gets more defense contract money than any other candidate so if you're looking for corporate corruption.....

If Ron Paul is elected we will have corporate abuse.

The government regulations and corruption are largely the reason that Enron failed so miserably!

I can't even decide where to begin...
