I think John McCain would be more apt to accept than Rudy or any of the other pro-war candidates. How can we make this happen?

Good luck.

McCain would never agree to it because he knows that he would get smashed.

His ideology is based on lies, ours is based on facts and common sense.

If he refuses...he still looks bad.

Ron willing to explain/discuss his ideas and McCain not confident enough to defend his publically and unsteered by the MSM

Ron Paul should publically ask him to debate. That way the pressure will be on, and if he declines he will lose credibility.

That would be an excellent publicity stunt. You'd have the "best" pro-war guy on one side and the best get us the heck out guy on the other side. The media could catch hold of that and run with it.. everyone likes to debate the war and I've no doubt it would get a lot of attention.

Ron Paul said publicly on MSNBC, i believe, after his back and forth with Rudy that he'd LOVE to debate Rudy on foreign politics where both men could lay out their views. I doubt anyone wants to war with Ron Paul based on substance, it's too easy for them to stand back and let the media keep throwing their "fringe candidate" or "Dennis Hof endorsement" arguments at the public.

I dont think any of them would want to debate Dr. Paul one on one< unless they could be shamed into it. Any ideas?

Wonder if we can get Nightline to do a discussion about foreign policy between McCain and Ron? :D

I'd love to see it but it will never happen. McCain isn't stupid, he knows Ron would own him.

should be the moderator. A neacon-sympathizer who is not supportive of Bush's policies. Could actually be fairly neutral in this debate.

Who could we get to at least promote the idea of 1-on-1 debates. Just think:

RP vs Rudy on 9/11 + US foreign policy

RP vs McCain on Iraq = US foreigns policy

RP vs Romney on the free market and govt.'s role, taxes, etc. (they both originated from the private sector.

RP vs Thompson on... I don't know, the legacy of Reagan and Goldwater and where they fit in

RP vs Huckabee on "compassionate conservatism" and the role of faith and religion (and maybe taxes)

RP vs Hunter or Tanc on the border and proposals to deal with illegal aliens
