2013 started with Clinton’s resignation as secretary of state, a move that heated up already simmering speculation about her future political ambitions. Was she really stepping down because she was exhausted from all the travel? To spend more time with her family and write a book? Or was this the unofficial start of her 2016 campaign?

The conjecture continued unabated throughout the year. And while Clinton and her inner circle remained tight-lipped, her every speech, tweet, trip, meeting, and interview only seemed to invite more speculation.

As 2014 begins, Clinton may still be unwilling to discuss her plans, but her actions – and those of her husband – on just the first day of the New Year spoke volumes.

Hillary Clinton would be a fresh voice in 2016, says Janet Napolitano, who backed Barack Obama over Clinton in the 2008 campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.

"She's had a lot of newer and different experiences than perhaps she had been," the former homeland security secretary said in an interview aired Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." "We're all awaiting her decision as to whether she's actually going to be a candidate."

In her endorsement of Obama during the 2008 election, Napolitano had said "we need fresh voices and fresh messages of unity and coming together."

Makes it official? The group isn't run by her. Surely they've realized that by now. Obviously it'd be foolish of Clinton to say no to the grassroots support she's getting, but I doubt she has direct say in what happens. You know, like how politicians 'say' they don't have direct say in Super PACs.

If she does decide to run, it will probably happen this summer after primary season, and before the general elections. The announcement could ignite the base and get them to the polls.

I am with AngryCanadian. Christie will eventually fail miserably. The media will then tout Jeb as the Conservative savior.

I expect Rand will lead in all the polls and do well in the primaries yet the media will say there is no front runner and they are looking for a savior "who will save the party". At the right time they will celebrate Jeb while manufacturing something on Rand. Maybe something like putting his Maddow's CRA interview in an endless loop just before Iowa as explosive "new revelations".

I called it early on in the 2012 campaign, that the media would be silent on Ron's newsletters through most of the campaign but would make it an explosive new revelation just before Iowa and they did. Also thought they would pick Romney and McCain years in advance.

She is a woman, so there is some novelty in voting for a woman to be "first female US president".
She has name recognition.
She is a democrat.

Just based on those three points, she has a good chance of winning, even if she ate kittens for breakfast and kicks pregnant ladies.

She will bring in record female voters and democrat votes.

It is all about novelty and feeling good for advancing female equality and what not.

UGH! My SIL likes this page. Want to puke...If there is anything I am not it is ready for that, that woman...to be President. Local radio was spinning the Benghazi issue as no big deal because we abandon agents all the time. they knew what they signed up for and no one should be upset at the administration or Hillary Clinton.

It appears she is going to be spun as loving elder mother figure who has no knowledge just like Obama knows nothing about any scandal that arises. They are said to be taking a buck stops here approach but how is that when they say I don't know anything so how can you be mad at me?
