Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is disgusted by Congressman Peter King’s continued barrage of attacks on Reagan conservatives like Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky.
Tea Party Express’ Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “Congressman Peter King has it all backwards as he continues his efforts to shrink the Republican Party. While Senator Rand Paul advocates pro-growth policies to often-ignored constituencies, Peter King is doing everything he can to isolate grassroots conservatives and reduce the appeal of the GOP.
“President Reagan preached a philosophy that could not be farther opposite of what we are hearing from Peter King,” Russo said. “Reagan was all about growing the party so Republicans could win in states like California, Michigan, and New York. What Peter King does not understand is that the party is big enough for Neo Conservatives like himself, as well as liberty-minded economic conservatives like Rand Paul. The Republican Party cannot and should not push either side off the edge. Only with both economic conservatives can the party obtain the appeal of Reagan’s Republican Party,” Russo concluded.
