Pennsylvania woman tried to frame hubby with child porn

State police have charged a western Pennsylvania woman with putting child pornography on a computer in an unsuccessful effort to frame her estranged husband.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 42-year-old Meri Jane Woods, of Cherry Hill Township, who also doesn't have a listed phone.

Troopers from Indiana, Pa. say she started the investigation when she came to their barracks on Aug. 14 to report her husband sexually abused children and put images of same on their home computer. Police investigated and determined the images were put on the computer Aug. 11 but that Woods' husband left the residence July 23.

Woods is charged with a felony count of sexual abuse of children for possessing a computer with the images on it, and 40 counts of lying about alleged abuse incidents involving her husband.

I suspect this has happened many times before.

Much like guys losing their 2nd amendment rights,, forever, on the words of a vindictive spouse..
"He has guns and I'm scared of him". BOOM. That is all it takes. :(

i seriously thought my ex was going to nail me in court with things like what you said. she already lied about everything else. its very scary being in family court as a man whom the kids decided to stay with. luckily the judge threw it all out cause she saw through the lies.

Right. If you don't commit a crime, you have nothing to fear... despite how easy it is to upload something to your computer for a regime that has tools like the NSA does, of course. They don't need to drone strike you when they can just upload a file to your hard disk and kill you in the court of public opinion and lock you away.

... if they did anything like that, it's obviously because you have done something wrong.
So if you haven't done anything wrong, you don't have to worry about them doing that to you.

Easier than planting drugs, too.

And you'll go to jail for longer.

Your friends and family will turn your back on you.

And everywhere you ever go in the US you'll have the stigma to drag with you due to the registry.

You'll be ostracized for life to such an extent that you'll have to leave the country and adopt a new identity, effectively destroying your previous character and anything you tried to stand for.

Laws have consequences and can be abused. They never make a silver bullet.
