Cloture invoked 59-34. All Dems voted for along with Collins (ME), Corker (TN), Hatch (UT), Kirk (IL), and Murkowski (AK). If the Senate didn't change the rules on nominations, we could have forced a vote on Audit the Fed.

Many of them left DC early for Christmas break to protest the Senate's nuclear option since the nominees were going to pass without their help.

A good protest would have all of the Republicans leaving. Just a few seems more like early vacation or avoiding the issue.

That's what they were planning to do right after the NDAA vote but they reached an agreement late last night.
