In depth study through leaked documents on police misconduct and punishments. Excuse me while I go punch a wall...........

Newsday identified more than 200 Long Island officers linked to misconduct cases by departmental charges, jury verdicts or multiple court settlements. The Suffolk County Police Department provided Newsday with 300 pages of departmental charges for misconduct by officers, whose names were redacted from the records. However, Newsday obtained a similar set of records with no redactions from a source requesting anonymity. Read them all here. The Nassau County Police Department did not provide any misconduct records.
The following 50 case studies are a sample of the types of misconduct accusations against Nassau and Suffolk police officers, and in most cases, how that misconduct was handled by department officials.
