Tonight's 30 second CNN ad:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPjTAH8Y_L8

I wish they would have played this in full screen.

(edit) I stand corrected. It was played to completion.

Thanks! They played the whole thing from what I remember.

I don't know why they didn't play the ads full screen. They played the Dem ads full screen during the Dem CNN/YouTube debate, I believe.

I loved the way they showed tons of supporters.

It relayed the message that there IS a LOT of support for Dr Paul,
despite what MSM says.

And this is only the beginning.

Did anyone notice Hunter turning to Ron after the ad played, seeming to say to him "that was good"?

I DID see one of them - I believe it was Hunter - clapping at the end of the ad. I don't recall that after any other ad.
That WAS a great commercial - I hope it runs a LOT.

There was some clapping after most ads, probably not Thompson's, but after Tancredo's the crowd was awkwardly silent so Romney started clapping.

Yah it's a grassroots ad though that is essentially the only time it will air unless we air it. There was no, "I approve this message." We have to get this ad up everywhere.

I'll have all the best ads on the podcast soon.

Yet I remember in the rules, there had to be 5 secs for the disclaimer.

If the campaign airs it or not, I wonder if they would let us (oh, yeah) run it on cable stations.

The shots of the signs over the bridges can be taken out. I thought they detracted from the rest. Also, the close-up footage of the woman could be taken out, and that would leave room at the end for the disclosure. (not disclaimer)

The other ads

Rudy's Ad - www.joinrudy2008.com
McCain - www.johnmccain.com/landing/a22.htm
Romney - www.mittromeny.com
Fred Thompson - Fred08.com

I couldn't find anything for Huckabee.

Huck was short on cash and all his volunteers were in church that day. I know - bad. I'm not sure this is one to run for TV ads but it sure nailed it during the debates. The folks at CNN probably died having to show it.

The only youtube ads there was Rudy and Mitt.

And wow at fred thompson's ad. Basically "All these other candiates suck. Vote for me"
And I see Mitt Romney is prioritizing the anti-mexican crowd.

Which is why they showed it LAST.

What he said. Those are EXACTLY the edits that need to be made. The bridge signs still carry a vibe of vandalism/anarchy.

The ad is really good, but it does compress a lot of things together quickly. Maybe it can be extended to 60 seconds. I'd certainly love to see the HQ run this.

How much do you think Romney paid to get his video made?

jgmaynard
11-29-2007, 11:18 AM
Hundreds of thousands... It probably went through professional ad agencies, focus groups, Luntzization, survey, de-Luntzization, more focus groups, re-Luntzization, etc. long before they showed it.

And how much did Ron's cost? :D
