Thankfully Rand isn't one of them, but Cruz and Lee were (very predictably).

I might have to bump my Ted Cruz controlled opposition thread

I think I'm also done giving Mike Lee the benefit of the doubt. We can give him the rope right along with Ted Cruz and the rest of them. I'm done.

Well, it wasn't just this. Calling the heroic Edward Snowden a traitor was a big part of it as well. Isaiah 5:20 is coming to mind here. All of our senators (Including Rand Paul to some extent, but especially everyone else) calls our evil, murdering military "good" and yet calls whistleblowers who expose our government for what it is "bad". In Rand Paul's case, I'm 50/50 that its a game, that he doesn't really believe what he says he believes. Mike Lee and Ted Cruz only hang with him because of what he says he believes. If he really believes more like his dad, their support for him has nothing to do with that.

Although honestly, I think Sanjuro's "Assassination Market", however immoral, would actually accomplish more than any election at this point. Electoral politics are mostly useless. This thread is evidence of such.

I am sorry Lee signed this but Lee never called Snowden a traitor. He said there were some laws broken and that was a problem.

Lee is right now looking into the possibility of having clemency granted to Snowden.

Valid point, but he said that Snowden was "probably" a traitor.

I don't see how any sane person could disprove of what Snowden did. Heck, a number of conservatives that I know were OK with what Snowden did.

I hope he does.

That's no excuse for wanting to murder Iranians for Israel, though.

All 76 of these senators should be deported to Israel.

They want war. They want people dead. They do not want peace.

This is why I'm pretty much done. I can tolerate some compromise... only so much, but some, on theft (taxes) or silly drug laws. But not on murder.

This letter was from Aug 5. It was not about the current deal with Iran.

If SWC drone king's puppet mastas dropped these 7 aipac tools in Iraq right next to Iran freedom border, will anyone here object?

I think Warren signed it, which doesn't surprise me at all because war fits well with socialism.

Of course it does. Dennis Kucinich is a rare bird in that regard.

I don't have a clue why "fiscal conservatives" who are pro-war aren't just as rare...

I'm done with any of them who sign on (or have already signed on) to go to war with Iran.

Rand Paul hasn't signed on to any of those things, has he?

I don't believe he has.

I hope not. I know there was that one vaguely worded thing about "Self-defense" that was nonbinding, and still ticked me off at the time, but I don't think he's signed onto anything that said he wanted to "kill Iran."

Historically they were rare. The Progressive Teddy Roosevelt vocally called for war with Spain while McKinley had little interest in it. The Conservative Grover Cleveland was opposed to the annexation of Hawaii. Woodrow Wilson just sent weapons to the Entente long before the US entered the war. The interwar Republicans were isolationists. There's a theory that FDR knew about the planned attack on Pearl Harbor. His successor Truman ordered the only two nuclear attacks in history, along with supporting a UN intervention in Korea. Republican President Eisenhower warned us about the military-industrial complex. Johnson got the US involved in open warfare in Vietnam. Clinton got involved in the Balkans. Obama attacked Libya, sent troops to Uganda, and almost got us involved in Syria.

The same can be said internationally.

History shows that wars are divided into two kinds, just and unjust. All wars that are progressive are just, and all wars that impede progress are unjust. We Communists oppose all unjust wars that impede progress, but we do not oppose progressive, just wars. Not only do we Communists not oppose just wars; we actively participate in them. As for unjust wars, World War I is an instance in which both sides fought for imperialist interests; therefore, the Communists of the whole world firmly opposed that war. The way to oppose a war of this kind is to do everything possible to prevent it before it breaks out and, once it breaks out, to oppose war with war, to oppose unjust war with just war, whenever possible.

-Mao Zedong

China is traditionally an isolationist country, but the Communists changed that.

The leftist government in North Korea would be fighting more wars, but they know they can't win any.

Socialist former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair was good friends with Bush and drew heavy criticism over his support for American wars.

The list goes on. The Neocons are a recent phenomenon and I think they're slowly going away.

^^^This should end the thread. We won't know how the Senators vote on new Iran sanctions until at least a week or two.

Although I'm not yet seeing the August 5th date anywhere.

This is about new sanctions. Read the post.

It may have been signed earlier, but that doesn't matter. These are the sanctions that they're trying to get through now.
