Why Liberty?
When the founding fathers of America wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, they understood the principles of Liberty and Freedom. They understood that you have your rights as an individual; that each individual is free to do as he chooses as long as it does not interfere with the freedom of another individual.
The individual has the right to be secure in his life, liberty and property. These rights are not granted by government, they are natural rights bestowed upon every individual by their creator. The government exists to protect the rights of the individual. The founders intended a government which was limited in its powers.
The ideals set forth by our founders are quite simple and clear. Freedom for everyone, protected by a government of the people, for the people. In the history of the world, America has come the closest to having a truly free society based on these ideals.
Liberty was so important to the founders, that they set up the government in a way so as to protect our rights. America is a Republic. It says so right in the Pledge of Allegiance. ("... and to the Republic for which it stands...") We are not a democracy as many people falsely believe. In a democracy, 51% of the people can take away the rights of the other 49%. In a republic, the rule of law (Constitution) is master and 99% can't take away the rights of 1%. A democracy is 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner.
Liberty vs Tyranny
Anyone living in today's America can clearly see that we seem to have forgotten many of the principles of our founders. Today it seems the government has not only failed to protect our individual rights, they go out of their way to trample them.
Here is a short list of just a few of the ways in which our government has taken away our liberties.
Taxation, Inflation, Censorship, Warrentless Searches, Wiretapping, Spying on American Citizens, Endless Wars, Indefinite Detention, and many, many more.
Did the founders envision a government that enslaves the people by taking half of their income through taxation then causing inflation through the infinite printing money to pay for endless wars.? Do we really have the freedom to travel as we please when we can be stopped and searched for no reason at all? Does the 4th ammendment still exist when the government can arrest and detain you forever without a trial by jury? Where in the constitution is it authorized for the government to take control of our entire healthcare system and force us to purchase services we may not want? The list goes on and on.
Tyranny is when the government rule becomes opressive of the people. Do we truly have Liberty as the Founders envisioned or are we turning into a tyrranical society?
It is estimated that over 40,000 new laws go into effect every year in the name of protecting the people. This is in addition to the millions that are already in effect. It would take several lifetimes just to read these laws let alone understand and commit them to memory. Does this sound like limited government powers to you?
The American people have been duped into debating for decades over issues like gay marriage and abortion, all the while the government has secretly signed bills like the NDAA which allows the President to decide to indefinitely detain an American citizen without trial, without representation, without rights.
Its an old strategy. Divide and conquer. The nation argues over democrats vs republican. Left vs right. Liberal vs. Conservative. Raise taxes, lower taxes....
The real question is; Are we going to have Liberty or are we going to have Tyranny?

LibertyEagle.org was created to help spread the message of Liberty. We have lost our rights and most of us don't even know it. Each new generation is born into America not even knowing what rights have been stolen from them before they were born. It won't be long before The Constitution is erased from our history altogether and we are total slaves to a tyrannical government.
I once heard that a frog put into a pot of boiling water will jump right out. Put that same frog in cold water and slowly turn up the heat and he will boil to death. We are that frog and the water is starting to boil.
