BRIDGEPORT -- A city police officer shot two people Monday evening, wounding a woman in the face and seriously injuring her male companion after confronting them in a Boston Avenue parking lot, police said.

State Police and inspectors from the State's Attorney's Office rushed to the scene and took over the investigation. Neither the name of the officer nor those of the two shooting victims were immediately released. Police said the male victim, who was shot in the torso, was undergoing surgery at Bridgeport Hospital.

Police sources said that around 7 p.m., the officer confronted two people who were behind a silver car in the parking lot of the Bayview Plaza, next to Burger King. A post office is on the parking lot at one end, and there also is a rental store and a beauty supply store. All were closed at the time shots were fired.

It was not clear what led to the shooting, and state police were not commenting Monday night.

Local police cordoned off the shooting scene, in one area of the parking lot and stood by until state police arrived. Under state law, the local state's attorney is in charge of investigating shootings by police officers.

Employees of the Burger King were escorted to their cars by police and would not comment on the shooting.

Not Cops, Thugs in Costumes who want nothing more than to get rid of the Evidence, or any Witnesses...

Contempt of Cop.

And to get out of that, the Cop just has to play the Contempt of Mundane card.

From your link;

Sources said one of the police detectives at the scene was Christopher Borona, who is under investigation for the April 1 fatal shooting of Bryan Stukes, 21, outside a fish store in the Hollow section of the city. The Stukes shooting is the last fatal shooting by a police officer in the city.

Police said Borona shot Stukes after Stukes threatened him with a rifle. Because Borona is involved in a number of serious crime investigations, his shooting case is being investigated by the Stamford state's attorney.

Thanks for posting that Pete, I couldn't find any updates.

So they were either legit "bad guys", or a pretty good story got made up pretty damn quick.

What raised a red flag with me is how any potential witnesses were whisked off under police escort and not allowed, or did not feel free enough, to make a statement.

Or the local media took it upon themselves to decide that the official statement was sufficient, and decided not to point their cameras at any witnesses.

Apparently anyone who feels secure in Bridgeport is a fool.
