And use an empty sharps container from a clinic or doctor's office to scare the Mundanes into coughing up money.

POULSBO, Wash. -- Poulsbo police are asking residents to chip in and help pay for the war of drugs by buying a new drug-sniffing dog.

Police say heroin use in Poulsbo and surrounding Kitsap County is on the rise. Officers have collected thousands of used hypodermic needles around town in recent weeks, and now they asking for help from the public to stop it.

Police Chief Al Townsend said a new drug dog, which will cost $12,000, would help officers find more drugs and make more arrests during traffic stops and residential search warrants.

However, funding woes and budget cuts mean he's forced to find another way to pay for the dog.

"It's just a financial issue for the city, really," he said. "Having the dog come by and run around the car once. It's going to make a difference."

Some local business owners are already pitching in to help pay for the dog. Jim Cecil, owner of Boomer's Pet Boutique in downtown Poulsbo, told police he's willing to help.

"If you guys get a dog, we will supply whatever kind of food you want, forever, as long as we're in business," Cecil said.

Townsend hopes to get a drug dog by spring. He said in the long run, the dog should pay for itself with seized drug money. Anyone interested can donate funds directly to the Poulsbo Police Department.

How do they know it isn't some diabetic who is disposing of his needles improperly?

Somebody dumped a sharps bin out.

Junkies don't go to the trouble of putting the caps back on.

When we vaccinate farm animals, we don't get a sharps bin.
I do put the covers back on though.

How about we just stop pretending its our right to tell adults not to harm themselves? Problem solved.

"Seisure Money", IE, money that was confiscated by the Police in direct violation of a person's Fourth Amendment Rights whereas confiscation occurs without Due Process of LAW, and needs nothing more than an Accusation.

Modern Day Witch Hunt.

Burn the Drug Dealers is all one needs to cry.

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. (AP) - Knightstown police Chief Danny Baker has used pig roasts and golf tournaments to augment his department's shrinking budget, but badly in need of $9,000 for a new squad car, he's reprising his most shocking fundraising approach to date: getting shot by a stun gun.

The jocular 63-year-old chief and another Knightstown official were planning to have a detective shoot them with a Taser at a free event Wednesday night in the middle school gym in their small eastern Indiana town. Spectators - who Baker hopes feel compelled to donate - will get a firsthand look at how 50,000 volts of low-amp electricity affects the human body.
