ATLANTA - A family is mourning the loss of their beloved pet and they say that the Atlanta Police Department is responsible for the dog's untimely death.

Kelly Rodriguez says police came out to their Grant Terrace home after an accidental 911 call. They say the responding officer ended up shooting their dog in the head.

Police say due to the Veterans Day holiday they could not respond to Rodriguez's allegations.
