Wasn't it a promise that Drones would never be flying around in US airspace? That kind of talk was conspiracy nonsense....

Just a training routine...Oops, there goes a 36 foot $10 million plane crashing into Earth.

FORT DRUM, N.Y. — The New York Air National Guard asked the U.S. Air Force on Wednesday for help in finding a multimillion-dollar military drone that crashed into Lake Ontario a day earlier.

The Syracuse-based 174th Attack Wing asked the Air Force to send an HC-130 search aircraft to look for the missing MQ-9 Reaper, according to Eric Durr, a spokesman for the New York state Division of Military and Naval Affairs, based in suburban Albany.

The cause of the crash during a training flight is being investigated.

The unmanned aircraft took off from Wheeler Sack Army Airfield at Fort Drum in northern New York and crashed early Tuesday afternoon in eastern Lake Ontario.

The area where it crashed is about 12 miles from the lake’s eastern shore and 35 miles from Fort Drum, home to the Army’s 10th Mountain Division.

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter and vessel looked for the aircraft Tuesday, but that search was called off because of bad weather.

The Coast Guard wasn’t searching for the drone Wednesday, Durr said.

He said the 174th doesn’t have helicopters or other aircraft to conduct a search, so the unit sought help from the Air Force’s Air Combat Command, which flies HC-130 aircraft used in search and rescue missions.

Two upstate New York guard units fly versions of the C-130 but it wasn’t immediately known if any of their aircraft would conduct the search.

The drone is used by the 174th to train Air Force pilots who use it on surveillance and attack missions globally.

There were no missiles or other armaments aboard the 36-foot-long drone, said Col. Greg Semmel, commander of the 174th.

A spokeswoman for General Atomics, which makes the Reaper, says a new drone with a basic package of sensors costs $10 million to $12 million.

Semmel said that the unit’s drone flights have been suspended.

No decision had been made on when they would resume, he said.

No need to wonder why we are in debt when we see how much is being spent on surveillance...

I know, in Canada and where i am currently is a bit of a surveillance city with police squad cars in marked black without the head lights.

What a "reaper" drone looks like.

Edit: And the reason I'm posting this is because a troll here used to claim that the drones being used in the U.S. were all too small to carry munitions.

How come DCPD/Obama SS is not equipped with smart hi-tech tools like drones?

If they were, few weeks ago instead of putting their lives in the line of risk by chasing in cars a suspicious looking balck mother with daughter and then having to kill her with guns after getting dangerously close after her car had come to dead stop, they could have terminated her from a distance with adrone without putting our valiant heroes at risk unnecessarily.

Hint right here: "A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter and vessel looked for the aircraft Tuesday, but that search was called off because of bad weather."

They do not work well in less than optimum conditions.

"Optimum conditions" will vary depending on who you ask:

"I no longer love blue skies. In fact, I now prefer grey skies. Drones don't fly when sky is grey." –Zubair Rehman, 13-year-old drone victim

That is one of the saddest fucking things I've heard a child say. A child who doesn't like blue skies anymore. That's fucking sick shit right there. They can't even enjoy sun and blue skies because they terrorized their loved ones or themselves risk getting blown to bits when the sky is blue. How fucking sick is that?

double post.

Sad sad sad....What was your greatest fear when you were 13?

Hmmm...maybe for me getting my P.E. shorts pulled down by a Senior...(happened once... :o)

And here a 13 year old says they don't like blue skies because they are more likely to die that day. Wait...who are the terrorists again??

It gets worse.

Instead of the boogeyman, the children are told tales of the drones coming to get them if they act up. They are very cognitive of the fact these drones are flying overhead. The buzzing, they describe. (as well as the pictures of bombs and drones and death they draw) There are a few clips out there where the children describe the scene. It's very hard to watch as they tell tale of the day the "Americans" killed their family.

Jeh Johnson would, if he were a Catholic, confess for his sins.

Well these kids can at least be assured that drone king is "Nobel Peace Prize" winner.
