Beck said his friend spoke about one of his first missions, when a 5-year-old boy and his 10-year-old sister who were kidnapped in America and brought across the border by a “monster.” He said the children were brought to “drug cartel parties in Mexico” where they were “horribly abused” and used as “sex toys.”

The sister told her little brother to remember that he’s a man of God and to pray for miracles: “You just hold on to God.”

“Well, a miracle did happen because my friend was onto this ring,” Beck said. “He was actually at these parties, and when he told me the story — you could see the pain in his eyes. He goes to these different countries and he poses as a rich American that is buying children to bring them back into the United States to sell them into slavery here. And so he was at this party, and he said, ‘I want that one and that one and that one and that one.’ And as soon as the money changed hands, the Navy SEALs drop out of the ceiling and they save the children.”

And the police were holding "clinics" where people would bring their kids in to have them fingerprinted in case they were abducted (anyone else remember that silliness?). In the US around 100 kids or so are abducted and killed by strangers every year, and I'm sure the number who aren't killed isn't that much higher.

This Glen Beck thing sounds like more fear mongering. I can still remember when he was a big cheerleader for the "war on terror", fighting those boogeymen over there that we should all be afraid of. Fear of this, fear of that, all "for the children" -- the whole system plays on our fears.

Someone else posted a reference to reliefweb and I was impressed by that. However, the original source of the reliefweb article/report is a organization called: "Save the Children UK", which is as credible as "Center for missing and exploited Children" in this country, which is to say not at all. If you've ever read anything coming out of the Brady campaign about gun violence - yes, we are talking about that level of credibility. In other words, yes, there is a problem. These organizations blow it all out of proportion on scale and LIE constantly for - yes, you got it right, fundraising and gvmt funding requests.

Personally, I think the real story here is that Beck used to have 3 Million viewers a night when he was on FOX, but now he has 300 Thousand subscribers - less than 1/10th of his previous audience. He's also recently been re-organizing his media empire and it seems to be in some trouble - not like the guy couldn't retire tomm and live very well. This just sounds like he's pulling an Alex Jones.

I was spanked as a child. I experienced no negative consequences from it. We're not talking about parents beating their children, giving them bloody noses and black eyes, etc. We're just talking about normal spankings, when a parent hits the softest spot of the child's body.

Do you have a reference for that claim? I remember seeing a report some time ago, stating that the number was under 10 a year, and that really surprised me as these things tend to make national news and you never hear about more than 1-3 a year.

Now, if your talking about kids abducted by CPS that die in there custody or that of foster parents CPS has "gifted" the kids to, that number (100) is probably low!

Inspector Joanna Beavan-Desjardins, from Toronto police, said the number of suspects who had close contact with children was of particular concern to investigators.
Doctors, school teachers, foster carers and priests were among those detained, she said.
The head of Azov Films, identified as Canadian Brian Way, 42, has been in custody since his arrest in May 2011, following an undercover operation.
He is accused of paying people to film the children and has been charged with 11 offences.
The company has been shut down.
Identities The Toronto Police Service (TPS) Child Exploitation Section was able to determine the identities of customers using Azov Films' databases.
US investigators then joined the inquiry because many of the films were being exported to addresses in America. Seven months later, a series of raids took place across Toronto, including at a site owned by Azov Films and Brian Way, police said.
Among the other countries involved in the investigation were Australia, Spain, Mexico, South Africa, Norway, Greece and the Republic of Ireland.
"It is alleged that officers located hundreds of thousands of images and videos detailing horrific sexual acts against very young children - some of the worst they have ever viewed," police told reporters.
Ms Beavan-Desjardins said that Canadian officers, executing a search warrant at the home of a retired school teacher, found over 350,000 images and 9,000 videos depicting child abuse, with some of the victims known to the man.
He was also charged with sexually abusing a young child relative, she said.
Gerald O'Farrell, Acting Deputy Chief Inspector of the US Postal Inspection Service, said all the victims identified were pre-pubescent, with some as young as five years old.
Mr O'Farrell detailed the cases of several US residents investigated as part of Project Spade, who have already pleaded guilty to crimes.
A school employee from Georgia, who had admitted receiving child pornography, had placed a hidden video camera in the toilets used by school students, the inspector said.
A pre-school teacher had pleaded guilty to producing child pornography while teaching in Japan, he said.
Mr O'Farrell said US postal inspectors had identified and rescued 330 child victims as part of the investigation.
Toronto police acknowledged the assistance of a website, cybertip.ca, which allows for the online reporting of the sexual exploitation of children.

In the first case, there are a lot of nudist colonies out there. Is this just nudists sharing pics? home scrapbook stuff of that day at the beach? - if so, BFD!

In the second case, they are talking about hard core, child sexual exploitation. I really doubt most of the pictures found were of this kind. I also suspect the numbers thrown out were for all the pictures taken from all the parties arrested. So it's not clear at all if this company ever distributed a image of a child being sexually exploited.

Oh, and the cops would never "exaggerate" on such a subject, where the content is supposidly illegal, so secret and illegal to independently verify. :rolleyes:
