Sheriff Arpaio: Unpatriotic inmates to get bread, water

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is threatening water and bread for unpatriotic inmates who deface or vandalize the American flag.

"Ten inmates are currently on bread and water for this infraction," Arpaio said.

Arpaio said he has implemented an American flag campaign in his jails.

Each cell is getting a sticker of an American flag. Any inmate who vandalizes the flag will be punished with the restricted diet.

In keeping with the patriotic theme, Arpaio has ordered that the playing of God Bless America and the National Anthem be done daily in every jail facility over the public address system and for all the inmates, regardless of national origin, to hear and sing-a-long.

The sheriff's office employs more than 600 men and women who are veterans representing past service in all branches of the armed forces.

The patriotic campaign will cover the Fourth Avenue Jail, Durango Jail, Estrella Jail, Lower Buckeye Jail, Tent City Jail, Central Intake and Towers Jail.

I have read a few POW autobiographies. I wonder if his approach is unintentionally fostering solidarity amongst the prisoners. The prisoners may have a common enemy. Prisoner on prisoner violence may drop as a result. Then again probably not, many of them are violent to begin with and will attack any easy target.

How much you want to bet that some of those "veterans" committed worse crimes than the people in jail? Screw them (Apologies to any veterans on this forum that "woke up" but I don't think any of you would be working for Arpaio.)

Oh, and I guess its officially "Veteran's Day" now. I really, really don't give a crap. The military is still just as evil as it was yesterday, and will be tomorrow. May we all be bold enough to proclaim this truth.

This case is a textbook case of "For our freedoms" being twisted in Orwellian fashion to mean something that it was never intended to mean at all.

I'm so unbelievably ticked. May God cause Arpaio to repent, as only God can.
