Tired of hearing limousine liberals complain about how unjust our economic system is? I know I am. That’s why I compiled a very short list of left-wing radicals who can’t practice what they preach.

These 100 left-wing supporters of wealth redistribution made millions and even billions off the free enterprise system. Many supported the Celebrity President himself Barack Obama, who has ironically gotten quite wealthy preaching against ‘evil’ rich people. This is just a taste of left-wing hypocrisy:

...

No conservative begrudges anyone who makes a fortune honestly a single dime: people willingly gave money to those on this list (in most cases) in order to be entertained or represented in office. And if these guys can amass huge fortunes, I’m pretty sure just about anyone can.

But until these hypocrites and frauds give away their wealth to the median level of net worth for American families – $66,740 (http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/business/2012/06/median-household-net-worth-down-35-percent/) – no one should take their word seriously about how there’s so much inequality. Just fork over the difference to the government or a (real) charity for the “public good” and we’ll all buy your bellyaching. Until then, stop making fools of yourselves. (Net worths via Celebrity Net Worth (http://www.celebritynetworth.com/)).

They're also generous with my money too by supporting left-wing Big Government policies like wealth redistribution (ie: taxes/theft).

Morgan Freeman:

Freeman hosted an online disaster relief auction to benefit the American Red Cross.

He created a cookbook (with recipe contributions from other celebrities such as Tom Hanks, Hilary Swank and Michael Douglas), ‘Morgan Freeman and Friends: Caribbean Cooking for a Cause.’ Proceeds go to the Grenada Relief Fund, a charity Freeman helped set up after Hurricanes Ivan and Emily ravaged the small Caribbean island in 2004.

Freeman also sits on the Board of Directors for Earth Biofuels, a company whose mission is to promote the use of clean-burning fuels in America.

“I firmly believe that alternative fuel supplies need to be developed to allow the US to wean itself off its significant dependence on foreign oil. Moreover, I feel that our development of alternative sources such as biodiesel fuel will help the environment, farmers, and the economy in general.”

He joins Julia Roberts and Willie Nelson as a spokesperson for the organization.

The Oscar-winning actor also lent his distinctive voice to the hit 2005 documentary March of the Penguins, and an episode of the PBS series e2: the economies of being environmentally conscious.

Showing his affection for animals, Freeman has given support to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, and he donated funds to help create a new research area at the Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine, subsequently named the Morgan Freeman Equine Reproduction Research Unit.

Freeman founded the Grenada Relief Fund, now known as Plan!t Now, to help victims of natural disasters, and his diverse philanthropic profile is further rounded out by his patronage of Artists for a New South Africa, and the Campaign for Female Education.

Oprah:

When it comes to being benevolent and giving to charity, one person comes to mind: Oprah Winfrey.

She has donated millions of dollars to various charities and organizations, with most of her money going to three foundations: The Angel Network, The Oprah Winfrey Foundation, and The Oprah Winfrey Operating Foundation.

Using her talk to show to publicize The Angel Network, Winfrey has said that 100% of any donation you give, goes directly towards funding a project. Some examples of the projects are The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa and Rebuilding the Gulf Coast.

The Oprah Winfrey Foundation is run exclusively by Oprah Winfrey. (You can not donate to this organization, because it’s funded by an endowment.) The Oprah Winfrey Operating Foundation was initially created in 2007 to give money towards the Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa. Through these organizations, Winfrey has truly established herself as an altruistic person. She has extended her arm and influence far and wide throughout the world.

Besides these organizations, Oprah has volunteered her time with other, various charities. Oprah signed a wooden dog bone for an auction that will benefit the Mississippi Animal Rescue League. Oprah also gave 300 members of her audience $1000 each to donate to a charity of their choice. Winfrey helped design and signed a pair of shoes for the Stuart Weitzman charity shoe auction benefiting ovarian cancer awareness and research.

Oprah is also a big supporter of the Clinton Foundation, which supports many causes including treating HIV and AIDS and fighting climate change. She donates to Project Cuddle, which rescues hundreds of babies from abandonment and abuse every year. She is one of the largest contributors to Free The Children, an organization dedicated to building schools for children in developing countries. Oprah has also auctioned off some of the cars from her collection for charity.

On The Oprah Winfrey Show, she has talked about various issues including the importance to donate to charity. Winfrey also created www.oprah.com, a website that shows information related to her show, book club, and, of course, public charity. On top of all this, Oprah also has a will that will donate 1 billion dollars to charity.
Oprah Winfrey is, beyond all doubt, one of the greatest philanthropists in the 21st century.

Most of these celebs believe in higher taxes for the rich- which is them. They are not hypocrites- merely not understanding where the true problems lie in poverty: government.

Two dozen “patriotic millionaires” traveled to the Capitol on Wednesday to demand that Congress raise taxes on wealthy Americans.
The Daily Caller attended their press conference with an iPad, which displayed the Treasury Department’s donation page (https://www.pay.gov/paygov/forms/formInstance.html?agencyFormId=23779454), to find out if any of the “patriotic millionaires” were willing to put their money where their mouth is.

And I don't believe in taxes- period.

The Government interferes with the free enterprise system, but we're not the Soviet Union yet.
I'm sure the author realizes that the U.S. is not Anarcho-capitalist.

lol.

lol.
Then why label it as such, if it's not? Seems to me you only run the risk of confusing people and unnecessarily turning them against the philosophy, especially those who feel the brunt of the regulatory state's interference in the economy. Just because the US has been trickier at hiding the degree of state encroachment into the economy doesn't mean the interference is any less detrimental than what happened in the USSR. Your view is too simplistic to be an honest assessment.

P.S. Just as an aside (that means this particular argument is a debate for another topic), it's debatable IMHO whether anarcho-capitalism would truly constitute a "free enterprise" system, so please don't try to tar me with that brush.

Most of these celebs believe in higher taxes for the rich- which is them. They are not hypocrites- merely not understanding where the true problems lie in poverty: government.

As suggested in the article, they can voluntarily pay in those higher taxes. Perhaps if they really squinted at the amount of money "needed" (budget + debt) and the fact that, even if they donated $100,000,000 it would be hardly a drop in the bucket, it would start to sink in.

Having said that, the article IS hugely inaccurate. Looking at someone's net worth to qualify them as a millionaire is one of the older tricks out there. A net worth of $2 million is not exactly crazy high. It's a shame that the "median" is around $70k... or is it? Where do a lot of people live, that this is their net worth? Do they rent? Do they live where $70k wouldn't render one impoverished?

Median household net worth declined 35 percent between 2005 and 2010 to $66,740, the Census Bureau reported on Monday.

The federal agency reported median net worth dropped to $66,740 from $102,844 in constant dollars in that period, which included the last recession.

However, excluding home equity, median household net worth actually increased to $15,000 from $13,859 between 2009 and 2010.

HOLLYWOOD

It's the tax code, and there's a reason why it's 75,000 pages long. Buried deep inside it on page (WHATEVER) are the writeoffs for the affluent, wealthy, and connected, welfare. Welfare that designs a system for the wealthy to enrich themselves, steal from the middle classes, and enslave the poor. Every year you hear about $100s of millions in welfare bailouts to Hollywood/Film industry. You heart about the state "Film Commission" providing tax free welfare if Hollywood filmed in their state...

Then there's the power of dictators, like Chris Christie, that wanted and withheld tax free filming of a show down at the beach called "Jersey Shore".

There's one great chief justice of the Supreme Court, Melville Fuller. He wrote the opinion on the SCOTUS ruling that a Income Tax on the people is Unconstitutional. I his opinion he wrote that the income tax will lead to class warfare and the power-favoritism. It's happened exactly as he wrote his brief.

Surprised these HOLLYWOOD heavy hitters aren't on the liberal Marxists celeb bundler's list.

Krugman probably just gets a six figure salary, so it is understandable. The kinds of people mentioned in the OPs post either get massive salaries (movies stars) or get lots of stocks and assets as payment (CEO types).
