Dr. Rand Paul Joins Senate Colleagues in Support of Military Justice Improvement Act
This week, I joined a bipartisan group of my fellow Senate colleagues at a press conference to push for the passage of the Military Justice Improvement Act. This piece of legislation will be offered as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, which is expected to be considered by the Senate prior to Thanksgiving.

The Military Justice Improvement Act is a great example of how officials from both sides can come together, work on a problem and find the best solution for those we have been elected to represent. I will continue to fight against assault in the military, by showing support for this necessary change to protect those who are protecting us.

Dr. Rand Paul Introduces Legislation to Enact Congressional Transparency

On Thursday, I introduced S.1663, Write the Laws Act (http://ct.symplicity.com/t/pau/c4ce4a213a62ce9e89888493d587ec22/1401316643/realurl=http:/www.paul.senate.gov/files/documents/HEN13940.pdf), S.1664, One Subject at a Time Act (http://ct.symplicity.com/t/pau/c4ce4a213a62ce9e89888493d587ec22/1401316643/realurl=http:/www.paul.senate.gov/files/documents/ALB13801.pdf), and S.1665, Read the Bills Act (http://ct.symplicity.com/t/pau/c4ce4a213a62ce9e89888493d587ec22/1401316643/realurl=http:/www.paul.senate.gov/files/documents/SCH13428.pdf). These pieces of legislation will restore the Constitutional principle of separation of powers, end the practice of including more than one subject in a single bill, and preserve the Constitutional authority of Congress. The American people have a right to be part of the legislative process. They will also allow citizens sufficient time to read and give input to Members of Congress as they consider legislation impacting the lives of all Americans.

When I ran for office, I promised that if elected, I would increase transparency and accessibility in the U.S. Senate. I am proud to introduce legislation that would require Congress to operate with more accountability to the American people. If we are to answer to the American people, it is imperative we pay close attention to how legislation is written and the subject matter it pertains to. These three bills will do just that.

Dr. Rand Paul and Sen. McConnell Offer Common-Sense Right to Work Plan

This week, Sen. McConnell and I filed an amendment that seeks to preserve and protect the free choice of individual employees to form, join or assist labor organizations, or to refrain from such activities at the federal level.
Every American worker deserves the right to freedom of association - and I am concerned that the 26 states that allow forced union membership and dues infringes on these workers' rights. Protecting the rights of workers, creating jobs, and growing the economy should be common sense.
