It's all about power and money. And supply and demand.
- Supply: Increase labor pool far beyond demand, decrease wages.
- Demand: Low wages, poor working conditions increase demand for Unions.
- Supply: Unions believe that their membership and power will increase due to more low wage workers.
- Supply: Democrats, socialists, progressives and Marxists believe that they will gain a disproportionate amount of voters and supporters via immigration.
- Supply: Various other special interest groups believe that they will gain a disproportionate number of members and supporters via immigration.
- Demand: Low wages and poor working conditions increase demand for big government itself, including, but not limited to, welfare, food stamps, unemployment payments, regulation and government intervention.
Chamber of Commerce, Zuckerberg, and La Raza Coordinate Pro-Amnesty Twitter Campaign
Special interests lobbying for amnesty—including Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the National Council of La Raza—have taken to Twitter to further coordinate their pro-amnesty advocacy.
The Chamber, La Raza and FWD.us, among others, have coalesced around a specific coordinated Twitter hashtag: #Ready4Reform. “Why do you support #immigration reform,” Zuckerberg’s lobbying firm tweeted Wednesday morning, in a tweet that included the hashtag and a video of a Hispanic woman giving her reason for supporting reform efforts.

The National Immigration Forum (NIF), a group funded by liberal billionaire George Soros, has joined in on the Twitter hashtag campaign. NIF tweeted out a newspaper editorial, written in English but printed in Spanish-language media outlet La Opinion using the hashtag. NIF called the editorial “an excellent… editorial on the influence of 600+ #Ready4Reform leaders pushing for #immigrationreform.”

This coordinated Twitter campaign between all these special interests is not the only lobbying front in the push for amnesty. The AFL-CIO, according to the Huffington Post, is ramping up its efforts. “The AFL-CIO isn't giving up on comprehensive immigration reform,” the Huffington Post’s Elise Foley wrote Wednesday. “The largest federation of unions in the U.S. launched a series of television ads on Wednesday in districts with large Latino populations, urging them to ask their representatives in the House to support reform.”
