As if the term "Tea Party" hadn't been smeared into oblivion by the media already.

The Cucinelli loss must have been another win for the establishment as it clearly sends the message to Republicans... get in line and don't even think about breaking party line and spouting "Tea Party" rhetoric because we won't support you, it's unpopular and you'll lose.

Damn, you guys. Stop it. Thread after thread of a bunch of quitter blather.

Drop your testicles and stop acting like big babies. If you are worried that we have had a setback, then get off your asses and do something constructive. Posting your negativity quitting crap all over these forums isn't helping anything.

BS. The loss was by very few votes. Wait till we dominate 2016 in VA. Take the non democrat votes and you get a majority.

Actually if you know the history of the Goldwater convention this is nothing new. If you manage to reach 51% in the GOP the other 49% are gonna drop you like a bad habit.

Too bad that the tea party got co-opted by the gop rinos. The gop party is dead there needs to be a funeral.

Um...Cuccinelli lost by a small margin after the doomsayers said he was going to get thrashed. If anything this should shut up anyone that suggests the GOP needs to run more "moderates".

What narrative are you all listening too?

McAuliffe had a huge money advantage and some hefty name recognition with his tie to the Clintons (keep in mind many people, on either side of the political spectrum, still have an affinity for the Clinton years). On top of that he did a pretty good job at smearing Cuch, who himself was not a stellar candidate. Given that, McAuliffe should have really trounced Cuch, but he only managed a fairly close win.

If there is anything that should come out of this is the GOP, if they want to win, need to stay away from the social issues like abortion and gay marriage. If they had run a clean candidate who didn't have a record of coming out on these issues, they probably would have beat McAuliffe despite the money advantage he had.

If I'm not mistaken, Sarvis was the margin of victory. And so the answer is to quit courting the kind of people who voted for Sarvis?

Yep, those "losertarians" are inconsequential. Except when they are not.

in a sadistic sort of way i'm enjoying that Virginia Governor race result.

Libertarians spoiling the race?....gawd thats funny...

what can we take out of this?...well one things for sure...the Liberty Movement is getting more powerful by the minute. This bullshit mantra going around that the 'Tea Party is done' is wishful thinking, and those that squawk like Myna birds repeating establishment talking points in that regard are falling into a strategy trap put forth by marxists hell bent on destroying this form of Constitutional Government....take a deep breath...this ain't over, not by a long shot.

This was only one election for a pissant governor in the couragous State of Virginia.

Keep at it all you Patriots in Virginia. Retribution is coming.

2. The government shutdown didn’t much hurt Republicans.

Northern Virginia was perhaps more impacted by the shutdown than any other part of the country. Yet when the exit poll asked who was more to blame, 47 percent of voters said Republicans in Congress and 46 percent said Obama. Considering that individuals almost always poll better than groups of people—particularly Republicans (or, for that matter, Democrats) in Congress, this is a devastating result for Obama.
