Ron Paul to Virginians: 'Insane' to Vote for 'Libertarian' Robert Sarvis

=====
On Monday, former Congressman and staunch libertarian Ron Paul (R-TX) campaigned for Virginia Republican Governor candidate Ken Cuccinelli and said Virginias would be giving up on liberty if they voted for Democrat Terry McAuliffe in Tuesday's election and would be "insane" if they voted for so-called libertarian Robert Sarvis, the third-party candidate who may siphon enough votes from Cuccinelli to spoil the election.

Are there any recent polls? The one I read said that if Sarvis were out of the race it would actually help McAuliffe?

It was pretty obvious something was up with Sarvis when all the neocons came out in support of him.

I call BS on that poll.

The poll also found that if Sarvis were not in the race, likely voters would split for McAuliffe 47 percent to 45 percent, which Quinnipiac describes as “too close to call.”

Why is that hard to believe? From what I've read on his stances he does seem to come from the left side of the spectrum - not the right.

I'm shocked I say, shocked! Unbelievable so many libertarians couldn't see through him for the spoiler he is (or is meant to be).

The GOP could have benefited the same way had they just not expected the Libertarian vote because of a Ron and Rand endorsement. C'mon. You know it is true. Did anyone from the GOP approach the L.P. and try to broker a coalition?

The Libertarian party just became an extension of the Democrat Party. Kinda funny actually.

Kinda sad. Missed opportunity for the GOP.

A major Democratic Party benefactor and Obama campaign bundler helped pay for professional petition circulators responsible for getting Virginia Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Robert C. Sarvis on the ballot — a move that could split conservative votes in a tight race.

Campaign finance records show the Libertarian Booster PAC has made the largest independent contribution to Sarvis’ campaign, helping to pay for professional petition circulators who collected signatures necessary to get Sarvis’ name on Tuesday’s statewide ballot.

Austin, Texas, software billionaire Joe Liemandt is the Libertarian Booster PAC’s major benefactor. He’s also a top bundler for President Barack Obama. This revelation comes as Virginia voters head to the polls Tuesday in an election where some observers say the third-party gubernatorial candidate could be a spoiler for Republican Ken Cuccinelli.

In other words: the Democrat Party hijacked the Libertarian Party.

Someone knows how to play politics. In this case it wasn't the GOP.

It would make sense strategically. If you're well-funded, there's still only so many campaign materials you can put out for your own candidate before people get burnt out from seeing them, and get pissed off enough to vote for someone else.
