SCF Endorses Matt Bevin for U.S. Senate

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) endorsed Louisville businessman Matt Bevin for U.S. Senate in Kentucky on Friday. Matt Bevin is challenging U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in the Republican primary election on May 20, 2014.

SCF Executive Director Matt Hoskins made the following statement:

"Matt Bevin is a true conservative who will fight to stop the massive spending, bailouts, and debt that are destroying our country. He is not afraid to stand up to the establishment and he will do what it takes to stop Obamacare. We know that winning this primary won't be easy. Mitch McConnell has the support of the entire Washington establishment and he will do anything to hold on to power. But if people in Kentucky and all across the country rise up and demand something better, we're confident Matt Bevin can win this race."

SCF recently asked its members for their views on the Kentucky Senate race. Nearly 70,000 members completed the survey and 90% said SCF should endorse Matt Bevin over Mitch McConnell.

If you Google search Republican Matt Bevin you will find a pay per click ad titled Matt "Bailout" Bevin leading to a website PAID FOR BY MCCONNELL SENATE COMMITTEE.

Yeah it is. They hemmed and hawed and didn't endorse Rand Paul over Trey Grayson until less than two weeks before primary day back in 2010.

That's hilarious considering McConnell voted for the TARP bailout in 2008.

Well, McConnell spent $1 million or more on attacking Matt on bailouts... probably hoping to divert attention from him supporting and calling the bailout the "finest moment of the senate." Or maybe just to make folks shrug and say "They're both crooks and support bailouts." to suppress voter and volunteer enthusiasm. Pretty sure all it's doing is giving Matt name recognition and exposing McConnell as a dang hypocrite though...

Pretty sure DeMint's SCF endorsed Rand the day after McConnell openly endorsed Grayson against Rand. Of course, McC had been fundraising and working against us behind the scenes for months...

Probably has more to do with Bevin wearing his religion on his sleeve.

I wonder if Niger Innis, chief strategist, TheTeaParty.net, will retract their endorsement of McConnell and endorse Bevin? It's time to find out where's the 'Real Red Meat' vs. the bought and paid for Pink Goop.

At least one person is benefiting from the IRS scandal targeting tea party groups: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
The Senate GOP leader on Tuesday won the endorsement of one of the groups targeted by the agency, TheTeaParty.net, a national tea party group. The endorsement will help the GOP leader defend himself back home as some tea party activists are still searching for a primary challenger against him during his 2014 reelection campaign.

“With the new revelations that the IRS has been targeting Tea Party groups, we need Sen. McConnell more than ever,” said Niger Innis, the chief strategist of TheTeaParty.net. “He was sounding the alarm about the government’s assault on our First Amendment rights years ago, even when it fell on deaf ears. We all owe Sen. McConnell a debt for his vision and courage.”
