Should the federal government ever intervene in a state's business?

Take for example, District of Columbia v. Heller.

What if the Mayor of DC, said screw you, I'm still going to enforce the ban. What then is the role of the federalies?

My reply to the other thread in Political Philosophy ... [ http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?430771-When-should-the-federal-government-interfere-in-state-level-decisions ]

When should the community interfere in individual level decisions?

When should the county interfere in community level decisions?

When should the state interfere in county level decisions?

When should the federal government interfere in state level decisions?

When should the United Nations interfere in federal government level decisions?

When should the Pleiades Star Empire interfere in United Nations level decisions?

When should the Galactic Council interfere in Pleiades Star Empire level decisions?

When should the ... etc., etc., etc. ...

Only the first of these questions is philosophically meaningful & significant.

All the others are just gaseous pieces of fluff that divert attention away from the fundamental & primal importance of the first.
