We're watching him fight like a girl

And if he can't win

He'll do a quick spin

Boehner is just another establishment clown, all worried about reelections, serving the money masters, GOP donors, and the continuance of the private-corporatist government club of their privileges.

Did Boehner get the 3.8% property tax removal from ACA? Nope
Did Boehner get the med device tax removed for ACA? Nope
Did Boehner get the Congressional DC ObamaCare subsidies .gov privileged removed? Nope

ALL of these snakes in the Senate and House just compromised to save their own careers and asses at the expense of the taxpayers and middle classes. The debt ceiling is once again raised out to February 2014, same garbage, same con games. Just buying time for a new strategy to raising the debt pile, sticking the taxpayers/people with debt and inflation, and looking for that lawyered-up movie script for the ignorant mundanes to believe in.

Fuck this clown.. he's garbage and absolutely worthless to conservatives, US Constitution, or the taxpayers.

I really don't care.

Dems have the Senate and Presidency. Most of us could've told you weeks ago this is how it was going to end.

There's no conceivable way that Boehner was going to let the U.S. go into an "effective" default, and risk him being the pawn to which all fingers point for a new financial crisis.

Only thing I'm mad about it is having to hear about it daily.

Only need 18 to join the Dems. Maybe Boehner can switch to the Democratic Party. Like Arlen Specter.

Can we get those "You're Fired" posters back that we used in 2008? The ones where the picture of our Congress person that voted for the bailouts appeared against a backdrop of the Constitution with the words "You're Fired." Shall we send them to Congress members voting for the Senate bill?

He's selling out the party. Usually Speakers won't bring a bill to the floor for a vote unless there is enough members of their own party to get it passed. In this instance, Boehner does not have enough GOP votes but he's going to bring it up anyway (if he didn't already) and give the Dems everything they want while steamrolling the GOP.

Boehner wants to pass it with the Dems Votes.

WASHINGTON — Coming out of a closed-door meeting Wednesday afternoon, in which Speaker John A. Boehner explained to his conference that he would be taking up the Senate deal and likely passing it with the help of Democratic votes, Republican lawmakers were already regrouping for the next fight.

That's the longer term victory for us. Boehner had to explicitly sell out the liberty/TP people of backbone, out in the open for the world to see. The spend and borrow, sold out to the elite interests hack GOP crowd win the battle now, we win the war later. The last time the Republican hacks betrayed the TP folks in 2011, more liberty/TP people took office or gained influence in the election that followed. Watch for still more gains in the mid-terms as a result of the current cave, in addition to a rematch on this issue each time the can is kicked down the road.

What's the bought-and-paid-for Republican leadership going to do when there's 100+ TP people to contend with in a year, or the years beyond? This is speeding up the cleaning out of the riff-raff in Congress faster than outright pro-liberty pick-ups, as it is re-energizing the Tea Party sentiment of unyielding resistance to the current regime. Despite being overpowered at present, we can win this war via wearing out the old establishment, just as the colonists eventually wore out the British in the Revolutionary war.

Here's Bonehead's (I mean Boehner's) Facebook comment on the cave, and the heated feedback that followed:

LOL aggressive? Is that what we're calling the COMPLETELY STUPID strategy to pick at Obamacare by shutting down the govt, putting people out of work, and lowering the US credit rating? Who DIDN'T see this coming? OF COURSE BONER had to make a deal.

Watching the CSPAN Senate feed, it's interesting to watch which Senators interact with each other and how. I just watched Cruz and McCain joyfully shaking hands, slapping each other on the back and exchanging pleasantries. Rand was standing right next to them chatting with McConnell. McCain walked over to McConnell for the same handshake. Rand and McCain did not so much as acknowledge each other and Rand walked away and started talking to some other Senator.

If this doesn't prove to the sheeple that both parties are cooperatively trying to kill us, I don't know what will. This bill will give the president the authority to raise the debt limit as needed unless the congress overrides him with a two thirds majority. The GOP might has well just pointed a gun in its mouth and pulled the trigger. This is unfreaking believable.

Ladies and gentlemen
Welcome to Washington DC
Home of the Ass Clown
Step right up into the 3, 000 ring circus of The Beltway
And witness the impossible
See them grovel, see them lie, see them crawl on their bellies
See real live white collar terrorists in their own natural habitat
See the Department of Homeland Security perfecting new ways of drowning black people
While our health care is subsidizing corporate drug dealers aiding big government and
Spying on everybody

I want to go to the circus
The circus of power
The circus they call Washington
A circle of dishonor
I want to round up the senators
Just like they did in Rome
Feed these Ass Clowns to the lions
Then I can go home

I wanna see it go up in flames

[Chorus]
Ass Clown
You're going down

I want to blow up the circus
Bring down the circus of lies
The ultimate goal and purpose
Is no Ass Clown survives
I want to line up the congressmen
And strap them to their missiles
Then I'll point them at their temples
Then I'll wave goodbye!

I wanna see it go up in flames

[Chorus]
Ass Clown
You're going down

See them stroke each other with bribes as they try on new shades of brown lipstick
See them circle jerk to the latest photos of torture victims
Ass Clown

I hate the three-ring circus
Under the bigtop of deceit
The circus maximus of arrogance
The circus maximus of greed
I want to line up all the judges
And take a gavel to their heads
Only then will there be justice
When all these Ass Clowns are dead

Does it just give the President the power to raise the debt ceiling unilaterally in February when the debt ceiling is reached again? Or does it actually give President Obama permanent authority to raise the debt ceiling at will?

It looks like you are right.

That mechanism would utterly defang the debt ceiling, returning it to its historical place as an opportunity for ineffectual posturing rather than extortion. Alas, it only applies to the next debt-ceiling vote. But Democrats hope that using this method this time will set a precedent that eases the way for Congress to make it a permanent procedure. It seems unlikely to happen anytime soon, but the groundwork is being laid to one day lock up dangerous weaponry lying around the American political system and prevent future crises.

Edit: So does this mean they can do I gigantic multitrillion dollar increase for the next vote while they have the two thirds majority rule in place, possibly ending this fight past 2014 midterms?

Brett85
