Malala Yousafzai, the 16-year-old Pakistani woman who was shot in the head by the Taliban for believing that women have a right to education, met with President Obama on Friday, thanking him for his support of education and asking him to stop drone strikes in Pakistan.

Passed over for a Nobel Peace Prize on Friday morning, Yousafzai met with the President, the First Lady, and their 15-year-old daughter, Malia, on Friday afternoon. While thanking the President for his support of education and assistance to Syrian refugees, Yousafzai pressed the President on the issue of drone strikes, a counterterrorism method he supports.

"I thanked President Obama for the United States' work in supporting education in Pakistan and Afghanistan and for Syrian refugees," Yousafzai said in a statement after the meeting. "I also expressed my concerns that drone attacks are fueling terrorism. Innocent victims are killed in these acts, and they lead to resentment among the Pakistani people. If we refocus efforts on education it will make a big impact."

A popular argument against the use of drone strikes is the pervasive fear they inflict on tribal communities in countries such as Pakistan and Yemen. This fear and devastation, opponents argue. produces more terrorists than the strike itself kills.

I like how Radley Balko summed it up in this tweet, perhaps a more fitting headline.

She is being used by war lobbies for propaganda campaign? There is no evidence in MSM that her dad was embedded with CIA, Who is paying for her trip around the world while no one has paid for media tours around the world for any of the thousands of children killed/maimed by air raids/drones under drone king SWC plant's command (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?419799-Shoes-hit-quot-war-criminal-quot-Obama-s-photo-during-his-South-Africa-visit&p=5101343&viewfull=1#post5101343)?

Pak private schools call Malala tool of West, ban her book

Islamabad, November 10, 2013

Malala Yousufzai's book has been banned in Pakistan's private schools after the teenage activist was accused of becoming a tool of the West for writing "highly co1ntroversial" contents in her memoir.

The All Pakistan Private Schools Federation (APPSF) issued a statement, saying it has been decided that Malala's book, 'I am Malala', would never be made part of the libraries or the curriculum in private schools.
The APPSF unanimously approved banning the book after it "found the contents regarding Holy Prophet highly controversial and written at the behest of Western forces" who it claims have used Malala for ulterior motives.

President of APPSF Mirza Kashif Ali said the federation represents all the private schools of the country no matter how big or small and that the decision to ban Malala's book was taken with consensus because the academics know that Malala was playing in the hands of the West.

"We run private schools in which more than 50% enrolment is of girls and an equal percentage of teachers is also female and we are striving for women empowerment and we stand by the movements and drive to give the denied rights to women" Ali was quoted as saying by The News daily today.

"That doesn't mean that we will allow our children to toe Malala's line with severe attacks on our basic beliefs."

Under the ban, the book would not be allowed for co-curricular activities like essay writing or debating competitions.

Ali said the APPSF went on strike when Malala was attacked by the Taliban and the entire staff and students of private schools expressed solidarity with Malala but that never meant that the private schools would accept every "substandard thing" written in Malala's book.

Malala, 16, has become a global icon after she was shot by the Taliban last year for speaking up for girls' right to education.

Ali said there are almost seven lakh teachers teaching tens of hundreds of thousands of students in private schools of Pakistan and the federation has directed all of them to update the children not to follow Malala.

Ali argued that in the book Malala had defended the writing of Salman Rushdie on the grounds of free speech.

The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has warned that those found selling 'I am Malala' will face serious action as she had not performed any act of bravery but swapped her religion Islam with secularism for which she is being rewarded.

Adeeb Javedani, president of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association, said his group banned Malala's book from the libraries of its 40,000 affiliated schools. He said Malala was representing the West, not Pakistan.

It is noteworthy that Goldman Sachs puppet drone king invited Malala to White House for propaganda value to support his war escalation blunder in Afghanistan but did not invite Nabila to White House for a photo op with his daughters when she travelled 7000 miles to come to Washington to ask why her grandma was killed by Obama drones?

Drone strikes: tears in Congress as Pakistani family tells of mother's death

Translator brought to tears by family's plea as Congress hears from civilian victims of alleged US drone strike for the first time

The family of a 67-year-old midwife from a remote village in North Waziristan told lawmakers on Tuesday about her death and the "CIA drone" they say was responsible. Their harrowing accounts marked the first time Congress had ever heard from civilian victims of an alleged US drone strike.

Rafiq ur Rehman, a Pakistani primary school teacher who appeared on Capitol Hill with his children (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/29/www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/27/drones-attack-pakistan-family-rehman-congress), Zubair, 13, and Nabila, 9, described his mother, Momina Bibi, as the "string that held our family together". His two children, who were gathering okra with their grandmother the day she was killed, on 24 October 2012, were injured in the attack.
"Nobody has ever told me why my mother was targeted that day," Rehman said, through a translator. "Some media outlets reported that the attack was on a car, but there is no road alongside my mother’s house. Others reported that the attack was on a house. But the missiles hit a nearby field, not a house. All of them reported that three, four, five militants were killed."
Instead, he said, only one person was killed that day: "Not a militant but my mother."

"In urdu we have a saying: aik lari main pro kay rakhna. Literally translated, it means the string that holds the pearls together. That is what my mother was. She was the string that held our family together. Since her death, the string has been broken and life has not been the same. We feel alone and we feel lost."
An Amnesty International report (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/22/amnesty-us-officials-war-crimes-drones), published last week, lists Bibi among 900 civilians they say have been killed by drone strikes, a far higher number than previously reported. The Amnesty report said the US may have committed war crimes and should stand trial for its actions.

Obama family is known to invite childrens groups to White House for various political agendas/photo ops usually. If he has any moral decency, he needs to invite this family of drone victims to the White House while they are in Washington and have these children meet his daughters. Obama had claimed that his daughters convinced him to change his mind on gay marriage, maybe Sasha and Malia will convince him to end drone killing of grandmas/children and civilians after meeting Nabila and her brother.
Reportedly Obama spent tax payers money on food tasters for protection of his daughters during their vacations, he then must know how fathers feel about safeguarding their children and should meet father of these children face to face even if his handlers/puppet masters advise him otherwise.
