Seriously? If you can't make a profit selling souvenirs to tourists with stars and stripes in their eyes, you should not be running the economy.

The bankruptcy petition, filed in June in a case that remains active, doesn’t explain why the fund (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/secret-service-uniformed-division-benefit-fund/) went bankrupt in the first place, but court records reveal a recent history of tax troubles and litigation.

A trustee appointed in the case,Wendell Webster (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/wendell-webster/), said in a phone interview Thursday that he is trying to market and sell what assets remain, including a Cal Ripken Jr. commemorative plaque that the fund (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/secret-service-uniformed-division-benefit-fund/) priced at $500 in bankruptcy papers.

If they close the White house to tourists then who's going to buy anything?LOL! That's like me banning customers from my stores and then having to declare bankruptcy, because I don't have any business/sales... what a bunch of government morons.

And these are the idiots we trust our money to manage and spend... holy shit, we're fucked.

Well, I suspect many of these politicians wouldn't be politicians if they were any good doing something else.

It wasn't in the white house, it was in the eisenhower office building and then in the press club.

I have tried them, they aren't bad. I was going on a diet, but I won't pass up free fires. Burger King obviously does not rely on the federal government to keep its doors open like most businesses don't. Federal employees are on average the laziest bunch of "workers" on the planet. Most are indeed non-essential, heck with most we save money by not having them work because they are a net drain on resources.

Ron Paul being the obvious exception.

Ron Paul being the obvious exception.
That's why I said many. Rand is also an exception.

My mother was a teacher and I used to kid her about the saying.... " Those Who Can't Do, Teach, Those who do, do."
Politics is a lot like that.

It wasn't in the white house, it was in the eisenhower office building and then in the press club.

Yeah, maybe that was some of the problem.
