A new Mason-Dixon poll in Nevada shows Fred Thompson leading the Republican presidential field with 25%, followed by Mitt Romney with 20%, Rudy Giuliani with 17% and John McCain at just 8%.

In their previous poll, Dr. Paul did not rank.

Dr. Paul badly needs to come out with a strong message of exactly what he would do to stop this illegal alien invasion of our country. Americans are majorly PO'd about the illegal alien invasion of our country and they do not understand Paul's stance. For example, someone can point to the fact that he doesn't agree with putting troops on the border, but what they don't understand is why and that he fully supports using the National Guard.

Mason-Dixon is out with a new 2008 poll in Nevada. The big news from the poll comes on the Republican side, where Fred Thompson has surged into the lead and John McCain has fallen from first to fourth:

Republicans
Thompson 25 (+12 vs. last poll 4/30-5/2)
Romney 20 (+5)
Giuliani 17 (+5)
McCain 8 (-11)
Huckabee 3 (+2)
Undecided 23 (-5)

It should be noted that the new poll did not include Newt Gingrich, who garnered 7% support in the April 30-May 2.

Thompson is our big competition. Has been since the day he indicated he might run.

Perhaps, but he's keeping the race fluid--and sucking the life out of McCain's candidacy. This movement helps us.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I agree. IF we can raise enough money to get Ron's message out, he will squash Thompson like a bug. :) 'Ol Fred has no record to speak of; all he has going for him is his acting prowess.
