The Santa Barbara Airport will be conducting a full-scale disaster exercise Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. Meant to simulate a major aircraft disaster, the drill will include 17 different agencies — local public safety offices, Cottage and Goleta hospitals, TSA, FBI, Red Cross, and so on — and involve smoke from the airfield northwest of the main runway.

Just making this public, I actually can walk to the airport from my work so I am a little scared.. thinkin of calling in sick.. but hopefully making this as public as possible will cause them to cancel any nefarious plans they may have.

Since Santa Barbara is such a major airport and terrorist target with international political significance (31 departures with about 2000 passengers daily- by comparison, San Diego has 550 daily departures)?

Aren't Diablo Canyon and Vandenburg about 80 miles from Santa Barbara?
