This discussion came up in the thread above.

Since the president has fallen on hard times during the government shut down and is having to eat turkey chili every day, would anyone be interested in sending the man some pizza?

We would need to find out if there is a pizza joint that would deliver to the White House.

We would need to determine if it would be a set time when orders are placed or if the times would be staggered.

If people are interested, how should we promote it? Twitter? Facebook?

What's the point of this? Or just a joke?:p

To let the president know that We the People feel his pain.

If we want to send a message of something like "From Ron Paul Forums for the President and his family during hard times", maybe you should PM Bryan and make sure it's okay with him to use RPF in the message?

That would be a good idea. If people start to commit we can iron out the details.

The point is up to you, we can all have a different one, but I would like to make the point that Charity Works even where government fails.

I'm sure there are procedures for this sort of thing.

I guess the worst thing that could happen is the pizza place would say they won't deliver to that address.

ROFL :D

Is there something like "Chip in" site anymore, we used to use one during the 2012 campaign?

edit: Unfortunately, someone purchased http://www.chipin.com/ and shut it down, making mundane common financial goals a bit more difficult.

An enterprising local pizza shop/owner would get a ton of publicity if they agreed to this and made a mass delivery to the WH. I can see the CNN breaking news with Wolf Blitzer "In a developing story, pizzas have been delivered to the White House for President Obama from supporters of Ron Paul. Let's cut to the White House."

ClydeCoulter

Maybe put this in the message?

"But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head."

Nah :D

Actually the worst thing that could happen would be that those that placed the orders might get audited.

I can see the headlines now:

"Members of Libertarian internet forum indicted as terrorists for sending pizzas to the White House with a suspicious white powder. The owner of the pizza establishment insists it was the usual parmesan cheese but a WH spokesman said this group is well known for anarchist activities including supporting the second amendment and raising funds for former presidential candidate Ron Paul, therefore the incident would be treated with the utmost caution for security purposes."

Yeah. You are probably right. Could probably get something sent to Reid's or Boehner's office. Maybe send Reid a bunch of pink ribbons or something.

Different reasons for different folks. For me it would be kind of a "you poor thing having to eat turkey chili, while you are ruining people with your policies, have some pizza to help you out". I am not sure of the word I am looking for though. Maybe sarcastic to describe why I would do it.

Guess not. Oh well. The shutdown will probably be over soon anyways. Might have to send some lube to Washington with a note for them to at least use it first though.

Blarghhh. School lunch pizza is the worst! Grainy "cheese," 2 spots of incredibly greasy pepperoni, and when the cheese slides off, the dough underneath looks like bloody brains.

'Fraid not, high school was a while ago for me. The only other things I can tell you about it is that the dough was gummy, the sauce was like thinned out tomato paste, the pizza was square cut and that the "browning" on the crust was light tan.

It was late 60's and early 70's for me (my first born was 1973, oldest son).

My fondest school lunch memory was chili with a peanut butter and corn syrup sandwich.

Well that sounds completely repulsive. I do recall some other kids in the neighborhood having peanut butter and butter sandwiches, and there was some other abomination that involved mayonnaise. Oh yeah, and some of them dipped their sandwiches into Kool-Aid.

No, no, no, no, no. Not mayonnaise, but Miracle Whip. There's a difference. I almost spit a sandwich bite out when I asked my aunt for a peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwich and it was not made with Miracle Whip. I didn't know that mayonnaise wasn't Miracle Whip. :)

I remember this! And the cheese... it was never a full sheet of melted cheese. It was not browned yet still crisp and made a kind of latticework through which you could see the aforementioned "sauce."

I read the rest of the thread and now find myself wondering which I would eat if forced to pick one : cafeteria pizza, or pb & mayo. :(
