This is interesting to see, there are some who actually serve the public and treat them as humans.
Ever seen people being so happy to receive tickets ? LOL

I was given a ticket and "shut down" (an exhaust leak next the fuel tank warrants a shut down) in Limon, CO. Normally I would have been really PO'ed but this DOT officer was so good at giving tickets I couldn't help but like the guy. I know that sounds ridiculous. I think it wasn't that he was so good, but maybe its that I was expecting him to be so bad --- and he wasn't. In fact he was very helpful and respectful. He told me where I could get the part that I needed to get back on the road. Nice guy. No power trip, very helpful, very RARE.

Another time while in Colorado my clutch linkage broke ON THE SCALE! My truck lunged forward and off of the scale. I pulled over and went in thinking they were going to shoot me for just driving off the scale without the "green light". I keep my documents in 1" 3-ring binder with old style parchment paper image of the Declaration of Independence on the cover. -- The officer commented "nice binder", I told him what happened, fixed the problem and was on my way.

FYI - They are really strict in CO. Logs, proper paperwork, inspections etc...

Twenty-five thousand tickets.

Are you implying this man to be the officer of the year?

At a conservative $60 a ticket, that is 1.5 million dollars he has help facilitate to be stolen from [actual] productive members of society. And this is the man I am supposed to be admiring? Because he isn't beating people, shooting people, molesting people, murdering people? Do you see that that in and of itself would never be justifiable for praise except for his profession? His profession, I'd add, that he excels at. His profession of course in politically correct Orwellian speak being "revenue generation" or even "keeping the roads safe" but if I were to look at it for what it really is, I'd liken it to highway robbery and a weight placed on actual productivity. The money these 25,000 were taxed could have been spent elsewhere on much better things.

I'm sure some murderers have a good personality as well. Some rapists are probably friendly guys. Do they deserve my praise simply for that? I understand that a probable apple to oranges card will be thrown my way with regards to my last sentence but is it? As far as I can tell, the man is a co-conspirator in the robbery of thousands of people. Considering this, what would be so offensive about calling him a pig?

When someone couldn't pay the fines he helped levy against them, a warrant was put out. Do you know how many lives this man has impeded? Just with license suspensions it is unimaginable. A revolving system of taxation and debt that some aren't able to get free from. They should take $50,000 of the 1.5 million he has stolen and throw him a commendation party. Oh wait, they already did.

Well, of course. But I believe that some are salvageable. Oathkeeepers are making a difference. Education, education, education. They may be brainwashed, dense headed, or down right stupid, but if some start singing the freedom tune many others will start humming right along.

This right here. There must be one of those logic arguments when you approach it from this perspective.

I don't beat my kids, therefore I'm a good parent.
I don't cheat on tests, therefore I'm a good student.
I never stole from my boss, therefore I'm a good employee.
I never sold secrets to the enemy, therefore I'm a good citizen.
I never screwed around with a bunch of women, therefore I'm a good spouse.

I don't think that guy could teach anything to his colleagues with that smile anyway. They always have ear-to-ear grins when their nightstick crashes down on your head.

At a conservative $60 a ticket,...

The cost of a seatbelt ticket in California is $142 and up. The cost for not using a child seat for kids under 16 is $445 minimum. http://www.ots.ca.gov/media_and_research/campaigns/ciot/

I once called quite a few DMVs doing a seatbelt fine survey. This was about three years ago. Many states had fines well over $100.

Anyone participating in that kind of system is my enemy. But hey, as long as you get service with a smile.

I find that whimpering while in the fetal position and yelling out "sorry Daddy, I promise I won't do it again" get's them to soften up. Or sometimes harden up, if that gets them sexually excited, which is pretty common.

You also have to love the happy-go-lucky tone of the story. CBS. Figures. Where are they when dogs get shot in the head by these sociopaths?

Network TV and local TV news have been nothing but a public relations arm of law enforcement for years. Shows like COPS are nothing but shrewdly marketed products for a dopey public.

Too bad for law enforcement and the entertainment industry that the new competition is YouTube videos. Stories with REAL raw footage that is not edited by slick Hollywood producers.

Never apologize to a sociopath. Even the movies are full of women who try that angle, only to get even more of the sociopathic treatment from the villain.

The problem is the legal positivism that is implicit in most people's thinking. I was telling my aunt today that I don't support any police officers because the absolute best you're going to get from them is that they'll enforce the law. She couldn't get why I'd blame them for enforcing the law, since they're sworn to uphold the law.

What makes me sad is that many people ON THIS FORUM have at least part of that mentality.

What kind of child seat do you put a 15 year old in? I think my nephew is 14 and he's over 6 feet tall, his little sister was 5' 7" at 11, I'm not sure how tall she is now, that was almost a year ago.

For not PROPERLY RESTRAINING.

The minimum ticket cost of an adult seat belt violation in California is $142 and up, and a minimum of $445 for not properly restraining a child under 16.

Exactly.

Even a seat belt paid through the mail is more than $60 every place I've been.

Considering that the ones not using a car seat, (which I'd add in some states you must use a booster seat until age 8 or 90 pounds), are the least ones able to pay the outrageous fine; I am going to go out on a limb and say they did not pay. I'll further play out the scenario by saying their license was suspended after a few months of non-payment.. a warrant put out on their name as well. They probably continued to drive... at least, many do. Their car would be impounded, after being towed, of course, if they were caught driving under a suspended license. At least a hundred dollars for the tow, no matter how little miles the tow actually consisted of, and a $35-$75 storage fee per day.

Now it isn't unreasonable to imagine a scenario of where the person entangled in this catch 22 of bureaucratic pre-criminalizations was trying to better themselves. To get a job. To help support their family. Instead their life is impeded by this supposed "good" cop.

Besides the fact of the thousands of other innocent motorists this man has conspired to or facilitated the robbery thereof. A fucking joke, if it weren't so unfunny. And they do it day in and day out. You wouldn't believe the worthless cocksuckers that hide in bushes and around buildings here. It's worse than worthless, actually. I mean worthless is bad enough as an attribute but these unproductive drains on society take it a step farther. After all, they are unproductive drains on society. I'd rather they'd be worthless; Or at the least non-existent. But no, they have to harass and fuck with people who actually produce daily.

In Ohio, a law was passed that children up to the age of 8 or under 90 pounds must use a booster seat.

The fine was like $150, IIRC.

Truth be told, he probably would change.

At least that's what I think.... that good people wanted to do good and help others and that the systemic issues with the concept interfered with their consciences. I hardly imagine, though there may be a few, that a person thinks as a child that they want to be a police officer to murder someone, etc. The aura of power, I believe, corrupts the individual, who at heart would otherwise be your normal neighbor or someone you see and don't think twice about.

Before long though, a good cop is hard to find. At the least, a good cop that remains employed or uncommitted to a mental evaluation is hard to find.

I think a lot of the mentality changes the situation to where a cop begins looking at his fellow citizens as enemies or even combatants.

This cop has a knack. Probably why he remains where he is in the totem pole.
