Six in 10 Americans (60%) believe the federal government has too much power, one percentage point above the previous high recorded in September 2010. At least half of Americans since 2005 have said the government has too much power. Thirty-two percent now say the government has the right amount of power. Few say it has too little power.

These most recent data come from Gallup's Governance survey, conducted Sept. 5-8. The 7% who feel the government has too little power has been mostly steady since Gallup started tracking the measure regularly in 2002.

Only 7% think govt needs to get bigger, but like 99% of people vote for people that promise to make it bigger because they're stuck on "Lesser of two evils" idiocy.

And coincidentally, the government is the largest it has ever been.

The general populous is not told the truth and does not understand what they are voting for.

The general populous is not told the truth and does not understand what they are voting for.

That may be true for some, but I've talked to people about it, who would say they want government to be smaller, and yet they still go off on the "Lesser of two evils" And "If you don't vote for McCain or Romney you're voting for Obama" rants...

Who's fault is it that they aren't informed? Who's fault is it that they don't redirect 20 minutes of their FB time each night to reading beyond what FOX/MSNBC/CBS tell them?

If 6 out of 10 Americans think the Federal Government has too much power, why the fuck aren’t we doing something about it? The problem is that electing the same war mongering, welfare loving statists year after year will change nothing. These puppets aren’t in control. They are bought and sold by the corporate interests, military industrial complex, healthcare complex, and special interests supported by shadowy billionaires.

This Gallup poll is another measure of the mood change occurring in this country. It is mood change that drives Fourth Turnings. The power of the Federal Government will not be lessened through the ballot box. It will only be lessened by it collapsing and being totally discredited. The existing social order propping up this corporate fascist surveillance state must be swept away.

I find it fascinating that Republicans and Democrats were at the exact same level of government trust in 2003. The delusional Democrats bought the Obama lies in 2008 and believed government could solve all our problems. The disillusionment of Democrats has been rising rapidly since 2010, even though the vast majority of these non-thinking believers still don’t think the Federal Government has too much power.

Mid-term elections and Presidential elections will not turn the tide. Republicans like McCain and Graham want to increase Federal government control over our lives. Obama, Hillary and the rest of the liberal minions want to foist Obamacare, gun control, and more welfare programs on the people. You can count the number of politicians on one hand who want to reduce Federal government power over our lives.

It will take the next financial collapse to discredit the government, Federal Reserve and Wall Street to the point where the people will be motivated to act. Fourth Turnings never de-intensify. They build to a bloody crescendo. Get ready.

And coincidentally, the government is the largest it has ever been.

Moreover, these people will look to statism to find a cure for statism.
