LOL....I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I had no idea we lead the nation in gonorrhea. I would have guessed illiteracy would be worse.

The one that says "Atlantis" ... I completely get that.

All that I can think of at the moment is that all of the trees lean towards the west in Alabama.

Maybe we should re-think this Free State Project and turn our attention to Idaho.

Most of California is open space, there's only bad pollution in and east of LA and it might get bad in the Bay Area at times, but I imagine most of it gets blown out of there.

They must be measuring the pollution in East LA and applying it to the whole state or something.

Utah and porn usage? LOL! Sorry but that ain't a Utah prob.

The worst thing about Utah is the Fed NSA Data Center.

Agreed- and San Fran is mostly fog, not smog.

My biggest issue is the lack of interstate between Southern Vermont and Manchester, NH. I know, I know, it is good that people prevented the government from using eminent domain to take people's houses to build a high speed highway. Still, while I support not using eminent domain, even for the roads, it is very annoying...

I was about to say "I don't know any Virginia furniture that's well known enough to make this funny."
Then I thought "Maybe they mean in the Soylent Green sense."
Then I thought, "On the other hand, I'm the only person in the entire world who has seen that entire movie, so I doubt that was the angle."

That isn't enough. Every town should have at least 1 school district.

Looks like the propagandists trying to find a new way to justify the homoginization--and, along with it, the federalization--of the nation.

Not that this will help eliminate female meth users and tornadoes in Oklahoma. But, hey, what do facts mean in the face of some good propaganda?

So, the worst thing about Minnesota are tornadoes? They aren't even well known for tornadoes. What about Michele Bachmann or the Minnesota Vikings?

Indiana, least green state?

I'm not sure what they're measuring that by, people there seem fairly environmentally conscious. Sure, everyone has a car or a truck, but eh, there are nice roads and sidewalks in North Indianapolis, better than most I've seen throughout the whole country, so a lot of people bicycle in that area. Then there's the Monon as well as all the bike trails connected to it that certainly help on that front.

As far as the color green, that is certainly ubiquitous across the whole state during the growing seasons. So much so, that a lot of people find the flat, endless green landscape of Indiana boring.

How did I forget about Bloomington? That's one of the most green cities in the country. Everyone walks or bikes. There are free buses that loop around campus for the rotund and also city bus services on the outskirts which you also access for free if you're a student.

Bloomington is completely beautiful, and very green city, on paper and in practice. There are waterbottle refilling stations everywhere to cut down on water bottle purchases.

And get this - no fluoride in the water! The city of Bloomington's water department lists fluoride as a 'known toxic chemical' and keeps it out of the water.
