After a long hard fight with the District of Columbia DMV and teaming up with the ACLU to protect my free speech under the 1st Amendment I finally got my license plates! I paid for them but was later rejected because the DMV felt that they may be offensive to the general public. lol. So they wanted to supress my first amendment rights becuase I support the second amendment. I was on the radio a few times about this on the DC area Chris Plante show. But I thought I'd show you the plates to prove we can win if we fight. I even had them strip the TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION thing of the plate and add the Wshington family crest (aslo DC flag) in the middle.

Or have their car broken into if parked in poor areas? I don't know. Maybe he will get honks and thumbs by other drivers?

IDK, maybe; but from what I've encountered, usually cops are just as much pro gun from their own rank and file as the average person - maybe even a little more than average. There are even police chiefs and sheriffs who are very pro 2nd Amendment.

Hopefully he'll just get a good ole "Attaboy!" whenever he crosses paths with any of them.

Well because DC is the federal district and not a state. So it doesn't get a voting representative in congress. Which if DC became a state I would be for it. But mainly I didn't want the citys political speech on my plate. Because some people don't want DC to have a voting representative in congress and yet they are forced to have that slogan on the plate. I just think that city license plates should be a political. Unless of course the person chooses like I did to get a statement on the plate.

Well I have yet to be harrassed by any cops at all. I have only received a furrowed brow and a shaking head from one driver in a Prius with an Obama sticker. lol. As far as broken into in poor areas. Well I just happen to live in one of the poorest areas in DC. Called Congress Heights in Southeast DC. People here actually like the plate and the fact that I won the fight. This area of DC that I live in is almost entirely african american and Democrat. But my neighbors happen to pretty much agree with me on 2nd amendment rights. Now we don't agree on much more politically but all in all I have gotten a good response in this area. I get along well with all the people I live near and while they realize my politics is a lot different then theirs we seem to be able to coexist peacefully in a mutual respect sort of way. I try to get the libertarian message out to whoever will listen. Hey its a hard task but I won't quit. Believe it or not my city councilman is Marion Barry. The former crack smoking mayor. lol.

I have gotten only one negative response and a hell of a lot of "love the tags!" comments. So it has been well received. I also do a lot of driving in Virginia for work and thats where I get the most positive responses.

why are you against the "taxation without representation" slogan?

Maybe because DC residents are subject to federal income and payroll taxes yet have no representation in Congress?

Is there a double negative i'm missing here? Isn't the plate a poke at that very cause?

I personally don't like it because it implies that representation somehow justifies taxation.

Ok this one actually trumps my plate but I'm wishing I lived in VA and would have thought of this.

It costs me nothing to fight this. The ACLU took it free of charge. I just wrote them a letter requesting assistance. The plates costs 100.00 to reserve but when they reviewed and rejected them I got the 100.00 back. When the plates were available I was thinking I would have to pay the 100.00 again. But when I went to the DMV they didn't ask for it. Far be it from me to give the government more money. lol. Basically I got the plates for free and the legal assistance was free as well.

I'm surprised you could get that. They're very restrictive there. Even 'Ron Paul' is banned.

I had a buddy who had a plate that said "Stay Lit" during college. He soon learned that he would be pulled over far more often for the duration of owning those plates. Please don't take this as a negative response, just be aware that you will probably be a magnet for gun confiscation busybodies.

Congrats and Good Luck.

The Bengazi plate isn't mine. The PRO GUN plate is. I had to fight the DMV after it was rejected via the ACLU of DC. Who harrased the DMV and threatend to sue if they didn't issue the plate. So I know Ron Paul is on the prohibited list but if someone wanted it all they would need to do is contact the ACLU and they will gladly take free speech cases. Of course they will also take a bunch of nonsense cases as well. lol. But as long as they protect free speech Im good.
