A simple solution... and possible benifit

Why don't you change the HTTP 503 (service unavalible page) to detail the problem...
ie,
"Due to an overwhelming number of Ron Paul supporters trying to visit this page and pledge their support, the TeaParty07.com website is temporarily unavailable. Please hit refresh."
"Remember to donate on December 16th by visiting www.RonPaul2008.com"
...
Alot of people are use to reaching "503" pages after being reffered by sites like Drudge whom overwhelm a server. This can be just as benefitial as someone actually reaching the page.
