Magic: WashPo downgrades Rand Paul from "front-runner" to "contender"

On Friday, Rand Paul was the GOP front-runner for 2016:

Rand Paul, 2016 Republican front-runner

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2013/09/13/rand-paul-2016-republican-frontrunner/

Then by magic on Sunday, the same article by the same author has a new headline!

Don’t underestimate Rand Paul as a 2016 presidential contender
By Chris Cillizza, Sunday, September 15, 11:40 AM
http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/dont-underestimate-rand-paul-as-a-2016-presidential-contender/2013/09/15/1c2925c6-1e1c-11e3-94a2-6c66b668ea55_story.html

Rand is no longer the front-runner, he is merely a contender. Never-mind that Rand has been a contender all year long in every poll and in the last set of power ratings.

LOL, Washington Post.

In the 2nd one it seems like he's responding to people who completely discounted his first article.

The editor probably changed the headline.

The editor probably changed the headline.

What he said cos I read the second article and he still placed him at #1 on his contender list which is the same thing as front runner.

both articles are the same, they just changed the headline.

Look, this is an important website, and they only link to the article now, after the title has been changed:

"1. Rand Paul: He’s not a clear front-runner. But, if you are looking for a candidate who can (a) raise the money, (b) has a clear and compelling message and (c) has an obvious edge in an early state (Iowa), then Paul is the only person in the top three who checks all three boxes. We repeat what we said above: Underestimate him at your peril."

This is what it says specifically about Rand.

Democratic frontrunners in 1991 for 1992 were Mario Cuomo and Jesse Jackson.
