'Sovereign citizens' assault Port Everglades

Amid the explosions, smoke, roaring vehicles and chattering gunfire of a terrorist attack Thursday afternoon at Port Everglades, one fact became chillingly clear:

These weren't foreign-born America-hating terrorists. These were native-born America-hating terrorists. And they were making things difficult for the good guys.

"They're moving, they're taking positions, they have superior firepower," said Sheriff's Deputy Richard Saito. "They're clearly very well-trained, very well-motivated."


Among agencies participating were the Fort Lauderdale Police SWAT team and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The Coast Guard patrolled the waterway and FBI agents portrayed the terrorists.

The SWAT teams unleashed a full panoply of military-style armament. There were two Bears — massive armored vehicles with turrets for automatic weapons fire — a beefed up front-end loader that lifted an overturned car like a toy and Hummers packed with serious firepower. Machine guns stuttered, and paintball rounds spattered the armored cars.

"It gets your blood going," Grant said.

"They enjoy being out here," Saito said. "They look forward to the challenge."

This is nothing more than the providing of social conditioning to something, with it's basic premise absolutely assinine to anyone following modern politics and social movements.

Maybe they should stick to the totally ridiculous, usual model where the bad guys are 'angry homeschoolers' attacking a school.

Mike Lorrey1 at 3:17 PM September 6, 2013 The increasing militarization of our civilian police agencies is a dark and worrying turn in our nations history, where the rule of law under a government limited in power by an enumerated Constitution has become supplanted by a police state that treats its own citizens that they are supposed to serve as the terrorist enemies of the state. I grew up a lifelong law and order republican. What I see now is a corruption of our republic akin to Imperial Rome, Nazi Germany, or sith empire of Star Wars fiction. It IS happening here. Journalists like those of this publication should be at the forefront of those exposing the growing tyranny and stormtrooper tactics, and denouncing our governments every move in trying to undermine our basic individual liberties with intimidation by jack booted thugs.

This should stop because we are not the terrorists. It is no wonder that the American people are having a hard time trusting the government that we are paying for. It makes it clear why we are seeing so many allegations of police brutality across America. Maybe we are training them to treat us with brutality.

If you are smart enough that wasn't a drill that was a preparation for something to come. This Port Everglades drill is another preparation and it is tied directly with events that will unfold right after October 1st. I have a feeling the gun waving religious conservative nuts are going to take on the streets when parts of Obamacare starts to take effect. Or... just maybe... the gun waving crazy religious conservative nuts will freak out about the bright light on the sky that will be coming from Mars heading towards Earth and start to think is going to be the end of the World. Either way, FEMA is ready for these nuts that are sure to come out and start revolting following their Farce News programming. If you do not have guns you will need the protection from these gun crazy wakos.

I have no blanket approbations of militant militia groups - and I have not blanket disapprovals either. But the presumption of this excercise is to vilify all such groups.
They could have labeled the mock opposition as Al Qaeda 2 - since we are at war with Al Qaeda, not even Muslims should be offended.
They probably took this whole thing out of a DHS manual - and DHS is notorious for dissing on patriotic Americans.

• In Hollywood, firefighters who left the city’s employ since 2008 after eight years in the DROP program have walked away with savings accounts of $500,000 or more, some as high as $1 million.
“Pensions can’t be as rich as they have been,’’ said Hollywood Commissioner Beam Furr. “When you are in the public service, you shouldn’t be expecting to become rich. You shouldn’t be expecting to become suddenly a millionaire, and that has happened.”
