Depends what the theme of your video is. Do you have particular direction you are going?

"Meant to Live" and "Dare You To Move" by Switchfoot would both fit the mood and the audience, but might be "too mainstream" for certain people.

If you want a more hard rock sound, "Savior" or "Collide" by Skillet are excellent choices.

For a more techno type of song, "Jesus Rave" by Ultrabeat is a perfect choice.

For something a little more mellow and smooth, "Amazing" by DJ Andy Hunter or "Angels Fall Down" by Skillet are perfect.

Personally, not paying any attention to mood, I'd almost sure pick "Savior" by Skillet. Here's a sample of some of the lyrics:

I'm everything you've wanted
I am the one who's haunting you
I am the eyes inside of you
Stare back at you

There's nothing left to lose
There's nothing left to prove
Surrender your love
It's all you can do, yeah

What you got
What you want
What you need
Gonna be your savior
Everything's gonna crash and break
But I know, yeah, I know
What you got
What you want
What you need
Gonna be your savior
Everything's gonna crash and break
Your savior

In general I would say something from someone like Third Day will be attractive to anyone who hears it.

Their stuff is not too hard and not too soft and everyone that hears them like them. (Even non-believers..)

It will be targeted at the Christian voter something uplifting to feature Dr. Paul and his Christian faith.. Have some stuff in it about how you can count on Dr. Paul and his word.. May do some comparison to the Huckster?

Problem is sometimes when you find the right music it helps shape what you do in the video..

Not a bad decision if your target crowd is Christian women over 40.

So you probably don't want something that sounds more like rock if you are looking for "uplifting", and not something like "Amazing" by DJ Andy Hunter... it's WAY too vaguely Christian for what you want...

I'll look through my library. Right now I'd suggest "Angels Fall Down" by Skillet.

I saw angels fall down
at the glory of the Lord
and as I raise my hands I see

totally depends on your specific target audience. There is no magic song that will strike a chord with every single person who calls themselves a christian. But there have been some good suggestions here. Just find something that has the tempo and feel you want.

Jars of Clay has some modern Christian music that went mainstream. Bought their album and loved it w/o realizing they were a Christian band, music comparable to Dream Theater.

Actually "Dive" by Steven Curtis Chapman would be an excellent choice for what you're looking for.

The long awaited rains
Have fallen hard upon the thirst ground
And carved their way to where
The wild and rushing river can be found
And like the rains
I have been carried here to where the river flows, yeah
My heart is racihng and my knee are weak
As I walk to the edge
I know there is not turning back
Once my feet have left the ledge
And in the rush I hear a voice
That’s telling me it’s time
to take the leap of faith
So here I go

I’m diving in, I’m going deep in over
my head, I want to be
Cought in the rush, lost in the flow,
in over my head, I want to go
The river’s deep, the river’s wide,
the river’s water is alive
So sink or swim, I’m diving in

There is a supernatural power
In this might river’s flow
It can bring the dead to life
And it can fill an empty soul
And give a heart the only thing
Worth living and worth dying for, yeah
But we will never know the awesome power
Of the grace of God
Until we let ourselves get swept away
Into this holy flood
So if you’ll take my hand
We’ll close our eyes and count to three
And take the leap of faith
Come on let’s go

It's perfect. It's uplifting, it's well known among Christian circles, it's mostly genre neutral, it has a clear call to action, it promotes several themes which resonate both with Ron Paul and with a Christian ideology... I'm not seeing any downsides...

If you don't make a Christian RP music vid with this song, someone should...

If you're going for max listener appeal - think

Jeremy Camp
Mercy Me
Casting Crowns
Third Day

All bands that most Christian people would know and have had a lot of hits on Christian radio.

If your target audience is older (50ish and up), music of that generation would work better to draw them in.

Maybe try something from Alan Jackson's "Precious Memories."

Johnny Cash is popular, and seems to cross the boundaries between young and old, and has a alot of gospel songs (fan of Johnny Cash).

I think the most effective video possible would be one that not really focused on "value issues", such as abortion and gay marriage, but on the principles of Christianity, and a godly life. I think these principles are most noticably portrayed in the Proverbs.

What do I mean?

Normal Christian-Vote-Seekin Politician- I am against abortion! (although a Rep. house, senate, and white house didn't seem to be able to stop it)
- I am against gay marriage.

Your Ron Paul Video
The Scripture rolls accross about not going to war unless you first count the cost, and then go back to proverbs by using "wise counsel" to wage war. Then pan into Ron Paul addressing the house in 2002 advising against invading Iraq.

Now, to be honest, I don't think the war is the best issue for Christians, becuase many believe we are doing a good thing by overthrowing Saddam.

But, there are a multitude of issues that are clearly lined out in scripture that address the ideas of Ron Paul.

The issues that you can address, and then pan into RP as showing that he exemplifies such qualities, could be include the following:

- Lying
- Flattering
- Not honoring your word
- Being a hypocrite
- Living beyond your means
- Going into debt
- Being wasteful
- Stealing
- Rewarding laziness
- Divorce and adultery

I do believe Ron Paul is the best Christian on thsoe stages, when you consider the above list of Godly Characteristics.

I would use the scriptures to show these points.

In the end, I would flash in Augustine's theory of the "Just War"....after each line, showing how Iraq is not a just war.

The basic tenants of the "just war" are as follows:
Just cause
Comparative justice
Legitimate authority
Right intention Probability of success Last resort

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just_war

To sum it up, there is plenty of footage showing that the war in Iraq is NOT a "just war"

Anarchy in the UK- Sex Pistols. This could help to bring this group into the 20th century, no need to shoot for the 21st century for another 50 years or so.

Seriously, I think instrumental uplifting music would work or patriotic tunes would go over well with the 'God Squad'.

"Canaan Bound" by Andrew Peterson would be another great one. Off to the promised land against all odds. Great song

from "Love & Thunder"
Words and music by Andrew Peterson & Ben Shive

Lyrics:
Sarah, take me by my arm
Tomorrow we are Canaan bound
Where westward sails the golden sun
And Hebron's hills are amber crowned

So bid your troubled heart be still
The grass, they say, is soft and green
The trees are tall and honey-filled
So, Sarah, come and walk with me

Like the stars across the heavens flung
Like water in the desert sprung
Like the grains of sand, our many sons
Oh, Sarah, fair and barren one
Come to Canaan, come

I trembled at the voice of God
A voice of love and thunder deep
With love He means to save us all
And Love has chosen you and me

Long after we are dead and gone
A thousand years our tale be sung
How faith compelled and bore us on
How barren Sarah bore a son
So come to Canaan, come

Where westward sails the golden sun
And Hebron's hills are amber crowned
Oh, Sarah, take me by my arm
Tomorrow we are Canaan bound

"Voice of Truth" by Casting Crowns. Hands down!

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
To the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. 'Boy, you'll never win!'
"You'll never win"

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
And the voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a Sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again "boy, you'll never win!
"You'll never win"

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

"Voice of Freedom" - Jim Kirk and TM Singers

That's not an endorsement of the song so much as a statement about the Hucksters ;).

Actually, that last one "I've got Jesus, and thats enough" is perfect if you want to go into attack mode. Johnny Cash probably did this when he was being questioned as a Christian. I think we ought to use that one.

"I've got Jesus, and thats enough"

Well now I heard that you been thinking bout me really I don't mind
I know you try to block my progress a lot of the time
Well the mean things you said don't make me feel bad
Cause I can't miss a friend that I never had
(I've got) I've got Jesus and that's enough (that's enough) that's enough
When I'm sick (he's there) and troubled (he's there)
When I call him he will answer my prayers (answer my prayers)
When I'm burdened (he's there) with a load (he's there)
That's when Jesus is a comforter (to my soul)
Well you may scorn me turn your back on me
God's got his arms wrapped all around me
(I've got) I've got Jesus and that's enough (that's enough) that's enough
You know there's been a lotta times that I didn't have a dime
And I didn't cry to nobody but my Lord
He heard my plea and came to see about me cause he's one thing I can afford
So if you push me down he'll pick me up
And he'll stick by me when the goin' gets tough
(I've got) I've got Jesus and that's enough (that's enough) that's enough
Well he's the great emancipator and my heart regulator (Jesus is) yes he is
He'll make my way brighter and my burdens lighter yes he will (Jesus will)
Well you may scorn me turn your back on me
God's got his arms wrapped all around me
And he fights down the devil till he makes him give up
And that's enough (that's enough) that's enough
When I'm sick (he's there)....

This is the classic of all great christian rock hits
