The full text of the message reads as follows:

"This is a message written by your brothers in the Syrian Army, who have been fighting al-Qaida for the last 3 years. We understand your patriotism and love for your country so please understand our love for ours. Obama is a traitor who wants to put your lives in danger to rescue al- Qaida insurgents.

Marines, please take a look at what your comrades think about Obama's alliance with al-Qaida against Syria. Your officer in charge probably has no qualms about sending you to die against soldiers just like you, fighting a vile common enemy. The Syrian army should be your ally not your enemy.

Refuse your orders and concentrate on the real reason every soldier joins their military, to defend their homeland. You're more than welcome to fight alongside our army rather than against it.

Your brothers, the Syrian army soldiers. A message delivered by the SEA"

I was asking whether the Syrian gov't have accepted responsibility for this, or it's just a random guy.

SEA claims that they are independent of the Syrian government.

If thing like this keep happening and get reported in MSM, Obama isn't going to get his war.

The person who wrote that has an above average mastery of English. A lot of foreign nationals are educated here, so that's not a huge surprise, but seeing that class of person involved with hacking a military web page on the internet is interesting, to say the least.

Isn't al-Qaida the reason we get strip searched at airports, have our emails and phone calls intercepted? And now we are going to arm and fight along side them against Syria? What a bunch of bs we've been handed down by the bs'ers in Washington.

From the http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/breaking-news/pm-questions-abbotts-judgment-on-syria/story-fni0xqi3-1226708766222

OPPOSITION Leader Tony Abbott says Syria's civil war involves "two pretty much equally unsavoury sides" and Australia should be cautious of making a bad situation worse.

Mr Abbott says elements of the Syrian rebel forces are "highly influenced by al-Qaeda" but the Bashar al-Assad regime's use of chemical weapons against its own people is an "unspeakable abomination".

"That's why I say frankly it's a civil war between two pretty much equally unsavoury sides," he told ABC Television's 730 on Monday.

"We've got to be very careful dealing in a powder keg like the Middle East that we don't take action, well-intentioned action, which could end up making a bad situation worse."

This is another troubling development.

Just a hypothetical, what if FP Obama does not get Congressional ok but orders troops to attack Syria anyway...but somewhere in the process orders get switched and instead of attacking Christian friendly Syrian government targets, troops start attacking Al Qaeda linked jihadi militants.. would Congress stand with Obama or troops who attacked Al qaeda in such an unlikely scenario..

In other news:

http://hackersnewsbulletin.com/2013/09/anonymous-hacks-syrian-electronic-army-gigabytes-sea-data-says-anonymous.html

Anonymous group of hackers (http://hackersnewsbulletin.com/category/anonymous-headlines) say we have hacked Syrian Electronic Army (http://hackersnewsbulletin.com/category/syrian-electronic-army), attackers claiming to have compromised SEA’s servers and obtained members’ names along with user IDs and passwords under #OpSyria (http://hackersnewsbulletin.com/category/opsyria).
According to a news published (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/09/02/anon_slurps_sea_data_launches_leaks/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter) by The Register, a group claiming association with Anonymous now says it has compromised SEA databases and servers.
As the news was published first here (http://reflets.info/opsyria-syrian-electronic-army-was-hacked-and-d0xed-warning-explicit-content/), which have all the images to show that Anonymous hacked SEA and have gigabytes of SEA data, you can see the image below uploaded as a proof:

Funny looking proof, a screenshot of a directory structure. I didn't see anything conclusive, and just what would that be?

edit: concerning Anon hacking SEA

winword gives it a grade level of 8.8.

The website was Marines.com (http://Marines.com), a recruiting website. I doubt any Marines go to that site, or if they even know it exists. It would be way more impressive if they took down Marines.mil (http://www.Marines.mil).

So is the media going to spin this as "Oh God bomb them all, Al Qaeta is hacking into our military websites (even though it is a .com and not .gov or .mil)... Blow them all up...just don't complain when the US gov. does it to your accounts, webpages, etc. because they are trying to keep you safe.

If so, he chose the wrong wording. If it was a set-up, it would have said something like, "the Syrian government supports Al-Qaida and uses chemical weapons on puppies. . . . and um, oh yeah . . . death to America." That would have riled the Marines up and helped Obama get his war.

Was he (KEEF) referring to presence post #11? I was and went back and edited to make note of it.

I'm an old Army Reservist Officer (entered service in 1981). I have no love for the Assad regime.

But I also have no love for the "rebels," who, in large part, seem as bad or worse than the current dictator.

The USA should stay the fuck out of this war!

These lose-lose situations aren't worth risking troops' lives over. You're right.
